Thread: Viral scope or RAD?

    Viral scope or RAD?

Yep! I am not giving in yet, and still the topic is TL 5 keepers

I am currently debating wether I should use my 259 Virral scope or take it out and swap various RAD's

For PvM I will not need the defensive RAD, and crits are nice.

For PvP (mostly BS) will a crit scope even be noticed? wouldnt a defensive RAD help a little more?

    Discuss :P

    you serious? ...

it all depending on the big picture.

you just cant say, this or that..

the defensive research hud is only good if you in defensive setup, else it's waste of a item.

your in a crit setup?... well then use the scope

yep I am serious, with a RAD setup you can be more versatile. That is you can swap between nanohud for buffing, AR hud for DD, evade hud for tanking oO.

meh... maybe I am too much a PvM kinda guy, so I wont be doing the setups for evades, just using symbs and not particular evade imps.

in a crit setup (I take it u mean GoC/ IGoC) and other add crit stuff a scope would add a bit to the total, but without focus on crits, would a critscope then only be a nuisance, because u cant just swap it.

refer to my previous post regarding the n00b keep for current setup, and u will find it is not based around crit nor evades, just allround performance... or PvM if u want. Only item I swap atm is between Notucomm and AItank.

yep, I am noob to the keep profession even tho my keep is quite old.

For pvp use the defensive hud. For pvm, make friends with some advies to get your crit scope back on. Or run a damage sim and figure out how much dd you do with crit scope compared to combat hud and go from there.

Evades go a long way in pvm too, especially if you solo much or tank. At endgame at least, evades>crit chance when soloing.

For perfection in /duels it completely depends on target. High defence/low AR/w heals; like advs max AR inn every single spot. Low defence/high dmg output like sols go def in every single spot. My experience is mostly from TL7. for pvm (team)crit/add dmg setup works. For pvm solo perk HP/Bio/HM and adjust huds for whatever you are fighting. Some choose the risky way to kill target before it kills you, others like to play safe with slow kills with little risk.

For BS your critscope is almost useless. Go with AR and take some hits or Defence to survive a little longer. Just remember Defence setup is useless if you cant kill your target. It wont help against most FA`s and for sure wont help vs AS/SA/Dimach.

I did alot of ttl 5 battlestation on my keeper. For the most part it seemed to me that switching research hud items around worked better than his crit scope. Depending on who I was fighting I could quickly add extra dmg/ar or evades and aad. Alot of people even on ttl 5 have anti crit gear... if they're twinked at all chances are they've at least got upgraded yuttos mems.

    However as has been mentioned alot is what your set up is. Best bet is to experiment with your toon...maybe get some friends who will duel your toon a few times while you try the research hud items or critscope to see which way your damage and survivability work best. Then you'll know more for yourself what to expect and what suits your style best. {also alot of the twinks outside ttl 5 battlestation will give you pretty honest and helpful opinions on which set up works best for you if you do some duels with them. Just find a few who are willing to chat about set ups and pvp. I dueled some pretty good m.a.s who gave me some good feedback on my keeper's set up strengths/weaknesses}

For pvm most times crit scope seemed to work best..unless I was tanking on my own then I'd go heavier on the evade/aad gear.

A few BS rounds and AI raids later

Even at lvl 155 a keeper can perform quite well in TL 5 BS it seems. As my setup shows I haven't done any specialized implants only going with symbiants (Living where that was available except for brain, I choose AR instead of NR)

I removed the critscope and the CR. using RAD for buffing, evades or AR. HUD 3 is occupied with a TL 3 (would be nice to find a higher QL) Close Combat fighter force for a tiny bit more AR.

Damagewise I guess a Exact copy would perform petter against aliens, but the kyr sword has way moe min damage, so I stick with that. and the Brawl and FA + Glory proc adds up. At lvl 151 before I twinked on better gear total DD in a 213 RK mission was equal to a 163 solja with SPB.

The only thing keepers lack imo is a devastating alpha. At level 155 the alpha is just .... meh.... lol.

As soon as you face a single real twink, that will seem very, very differently.

Plus lots and lots of RS, plus AR to land anything except regulars on a twink, plus tons of NR, ... TL5 keepers are just a sad joke compared to any other prof, no matter what you do with them. Enfs, advs and soldiers can easily tank and kill any keeper, the rest can kite them at will without ever getting close to trouble. Sure you can live for a while (in that ~5% of the time where all your def-perks are available...), but the only way that's gonna help is when people have some other targets around that will die quicker.

Any other prof will perform better than a keeper at TL5, except shades. A good keeper is nice to have in a team tho.

Fixed its not because they're keepers, its because they know what they're doing, And most likely targeting the lowbies.

If you're not some epeen player you're on battlestation to do your best to win for your side and you don't spend your time farming green players. And contrary to what some people say there have been a few good keepers at ttl 5..though the fact that it's hard work to be decent..and you are fighting oponants with heals and dof/coon.. makes it a lot harder work than other classes. But it teaches you alot and in the end is worth it because you learn to make a pretty good toon.
