This thread will be updated with the issues that are known and have been reported from the 16.0 patch
(16.0.3) pets sometimes not automatically following / despawning after zoning
In terms of the pet 'losing its master' on zoning, we have reproduced this internally, unfortunately it is very very inconsistent and not that common. Yes, I fully appreciate it happening at all is too common but this does mean that it something that the coders will have to look into in more detail and I can't give you any eta on any update, as always any infrequently 'randomly' occuring bug can be hard to nail down.
Incidently, issuing a pet command immediately upon zoning should force the pet back under your control and into the correct mode so you should be able to work around the issue when it does occur.
Those that 'timeout' would seem to be because the player moved out of range of the pet (which stayed at the zone line whilst the master moved on) so after a certain period of time it will time out if it doesn't find its master, again issuing a pet command anytime you dont see the 'reconnecting' message upon zoning should resolve this in the interim.
We have not reproduced any instance where a pet not 'stuck' at the zone line masterless decided to just timeout. It does happen as described above, but not under any other circumsatnces we can reproduce. If you believe otherwise please provide as many details as possible to bugs@anarchy-online.com

This actually turns out to be an old infrequent issue with certain OS / keyboard combinations. It has been reported before on previous versions but only happens for a few users. The QA team will continue to investigate but this unfortunately a low priority issue.
