The downtime was announced in good advance and if you have played AO for a lil while you know that with hardware updates and major patches downtime is likely to be extended beyond the expected uptime. This is a fact of life, often things that look good on paper doesnt work out when they implement it. It is nothing to get your hair on fire for, Ive heard horror stories from other MMORPG's about daily downtimes, rollbacks every other patch, servers crashing for the whole weekend etc. AO is stable and reliable because the staff that makes the wheels turn does a very good job. Its not a big deal that the downtime was extended, people get killed in the world as we speak and you flip out because you cant play your videogame....

Using timezone abbrivations not valid during the summer might confuse some people.

Well, Iceland use GMT all year, and Nunavut - Coral Harbour use EST, but I dont think that justify it.

EDIT: Stick with UTC, cant go wrong there.

Just so you know, GMT = UTC. Both abbrivations mean the same thing.

We are having an issue with the installation of one of the new database servers that the server team are working hard to resolve. I hope to have a better estimate of when the live dimensions will be back up within the next twenty minutes or so.


Incase anyone wanted to know.
