Accounts Merge Question

Hey all. Quick question about how the account merging process works. I found a thread talking about it, but I just wanted to clarify if what I'm thinking is how it actually works.

I have two accounts - both full of characters in different stages. I play each of them frequently. I pay a monthly fee for both accounts. I duel log the accounts each time I play.

If I merge the accounts, am I paying ONE monthly fee and still retaining the ability to duel log?

No you don't. Merging accounts is just to easier manage the accounts under one main account. You still have to pay for them individually. However, The accounts do share the same veteran points. So if you merge a froobaccount with your paid, it gets Vp.
