Thread: *Official* Daily Mission Bug reports

  1. #201
    experimental nanoprogram.

cant exactly recall the name of the mission... its where you are ordered to bring a nanoformula running in your ncu to a customer (you'll receive a 100/6s dot when entering the playfield with "the customer").
it seemes the mission wont get updated when the target npc removes the nano from your ncu while youre yalmed. (playfield was CAV)

i had a *very nice* answer to my petition yesterday including the removal of the 18h lockout so i pulled a new daily - same mission, different target playfield though (mort). this time i was able to solve the quest, unyalmed.

lvl 163 clan doc doing Extraction:

If I go into a room first the NPC will run past the 4 mobs im fighting into the next room and die. NPC also seems weaker in relation to the mobs now for some reason. Tried this for almost 2 hours and the NPC didn't make it half way to the exit without dying. If you keep going back to the respawned NPC the last room ends up with a huge stack of mobs.

I got one of the Prototype Nanoprogram missions before the 18.3.11 patch. The mission completed, but the NPC did not successfully remove the hostile nano. I managed to get out of the zone alive, but the Prototype Nanoprogram is still running. The patch noted that the nano program can be canceled, but I'm still getting the "can't cancel hostile nano program" error message when I try to cancel it. I can't go to 4-Holes with this character now for 2 more hours. =P

today i got the same mission
    Description:
    Experimental Software

Your assignment is to test experimental software prototypes- Testing is simple, as all you need to do is have (and keep) the software nano running in your NCU.

Time is of the essence, as these experimental formulas are usually highly unstable. It will be in your best interest to go to the client responsible for the product as soon as possible.

Find our client Xenobiologist Grimes located in Central Artery Valley.
it seems this particular location is bugged, not yalm related.
i didnt petition this time - hope the thread is read

I have had that mission, to that location, and it worked fine. haven't had it in a few weeks though, so if that changed since the last patch, I last experienced it before then.

In my cases I was de-yalmed and not morphed when I talked to Grimes.

I've had it in a couple or a few other locations as well but don't remember where they were offhand. Those worked fine also (de-yalmed and not morphed).

did the extraction mission on my 150 MA the other day (sunday morning i think?), all went fine, found the woman, escorted her out, but just after i recieved the reward the client crashed (got the message box asking to send the info to FC, which i did).
i'm guessing this has something to do with the recent changes? (or just bad luck )

    Embrace the shadows

I did the proverbial turn left, except i did it to the right. And got stuck.

Inside the zone, i tried to go around the zone hugging the right side. Climbed a bit and fell down again and landed on a piece of land without any visible exit, could not backtrack. Either a red borderzone needs to be removed or the wall of the canyon needs to be steeper.

Also, it didnt update quest even after the timer finished on the loot.

My 75 trader got the hack the mainframe mission in the cyborg citadel. Mobs in mission are level 80 to 100+. Are these missions ever going to scale? If not, at least change the official description of daily missions to "missions at least 10 to 20 levels above your current level." That would be less work.
Ya wanna fix something - give RK mobs better xp, make RK matter again.

Calms worked there for me last time I pulled that mish, but I hardly needed them; my 76 froob trader in average gear cruised thru the citadel.

    Better Luck with NT

I guess my trader is gimp or I am, or all of the above. Her next trip to the agency she pulled the crash site kill 5 of x type mission. She got wiped trying to drain up on some nearby 70ish mobs, so we just cancelled it. Her calms and roots rarely land on toons in her range.

This evening my 75 NT pulled the Cyborg Citadel mainframe mission and got wiped the first time, despite calms working, just learning the layout. She got lost and backtracked and didn't see an un-calmed borg till it was too late.

The second time, knowing which way to go, her calms worked just fine and she even passed some MA doing it the hard way (fighting their way in.) Made it all the way to the mainframe and loaded in the virus, and got the mission complete. She even managed to get out alive. I give it a WIN.

I am getting the shade mission several times in a row, the friggin mission doesnt update even when the timer on the loot finishes. And then once in a blue moon the thing updates after i die even if the timer didnt run. Am i doing something wrong? Or is the loot bugged? Better yet, should I even bother?

    Argh!

I got the mission for the Experimental Software, where you have to go to the Radar Station in Central Artery Valley. I got there, had the chat with Xenobiologist Grimes, gave her the item... No update.

Silly me, I petitioned it. The person answering the petition tried to generate the item, twice. It didn't appear in my inventory. Then I was told to delete the mission. So, I did, thinking the mission would be reset. Nope. Lockout for 18 hours.

Thanks, I could have deleted it myself and saved the 8 hours I waited on getting my petition answered. I was advised that's the way it worked. No way to get the "cooldown" reset. If I didn't like it, send feedback.

    Here's my feedback. GRRRRR!

    Holograms

"Due to excessive scavenging by local lifeforms, the historic Milky Way crash site has had several of the ships replaced with holograms. Please continue to enjoy this look at Rubi-Ka's past. Omni-Tek protects!"

Please, could something be done about these ships? They block our view of the Crash Site daily mission monsters, which can see us through them just fine, plus the solid ships look identical to the ones with no substance. I think they even overlap in places. It was one thing when it was an area visited just for the occasional mission from a terminal, but with daily missions being done there it will stand out to a lot of players. Can this be fixed somehow? (Not really a bug, but I don't know where else to put it without starting a new thread, and this is supposed to gather the Daily Mission problems in one place)

I had enough "Embrace the shadows" crappiness. This mission is now "delete ASAP". Cant kill my way through (fast respawn), not enough conceal to sneak through and the mission doesnt update 2/3 of the time if i blitz it. I hope we have more broken daily missions soon.

I havn't checked myself yet, but I've heard those have been removed again already. God that was horrible... someone just duplicated the old ships, who were designed to be on the ground, and stuck em halfway in the air. It blocked sight completely, made some mission entrances unsee-able and was a generally horrible design. Who the hell came up with that idea anyway, I in fact lost all faith in the AO design team for a moment.

It just happened to me, same location and using a phasefront.
I went though the quizz too for the fun of it.

Edit: Got the counter deleted and bug reported. Ty support.

Edit edit : Extraction the door to the area mentions 'Exit to Borealis', copy/paste from the grid exit. A detail, I know.
The mission is pretty nice. I don't mind the pet spamming since he do his job. Also something you shouldn't fix : 'my husband is travelling with my kids', in the clan version (if he's a copy paste job, if not, okay).

Edit edit edit : Aww you fixed the extraction npc.

They must have fixed it in the latest patch. I just went to the crash site today, and no holographic ships! Just the regular solid ones. So, I guess technically this was fixed by the time I first posted about it
Shows what happens when I post about something right AFTER an update, without checking to see if it's still there. Of course, if the patch notes included stuff like this, it would be very helpful (hint hint).
