The buff scale with lvl, and you do know adventurers still have to IP all the same nano skills, to all the same levels for other nanos.

The devs intended the new adv document to allow/force adventurers to be changing morph in combat and in very short time. HENCE the removal of requirements to cast the nano and casttime.
The most fundamental to an adventurer, his morphs, all being usable and scaling with lvl from start is not gamebreaking, it's gameflourishing

indeed, hopefully agents have something along the lines of this. Obviously slightly different as it could be more OP in our hands.

Real twinking ends when you have enough IP to max everything you need.

Because putting on alphas doesn't require twinking?

Not since it became possible for almost every profession/breed combo.

Probably Trox Soldier is the only one that can't?

I do have some sympathy for this position - but can see why it is as it is. It's a partial line between the two... The morph concept as implemented doesn't completely ignore skills - and as others have pointed out, because of the nanos used when in a morph, adventurers will still have to max out the same skills, so the balance is retained.

But at the same time, the morph concept doesn't stick to the concept of better buffs = more skill and so can give increasing buffs without need for more investment.

It walks a line between the two extremes which AO has always done to some extent. The morph nanos themselves perhaps veer a little more toward the non-skills based end of the spectrum but less so than many other things that have been implemented over recent years (Perks, Procs etc)... so is it an improvement or a worsening?

I personally like to let form follow function to some degree... and it seems to me, that the implementation fits what they were trying to achieve with the new morphing concept and I don't think that it breaks the AO paradigm too badly - and certainly less than a great many developments in recent years... so I don't really see it as a harbinger of doom for the skills-oriented paradigm of the game.

I lub low-lvl twinking. So, NO to lvl lock!

Twinking was and is still the only reason why I have played this game for so long.

Equipping and using items/weapons/nanos wouldn't be such a bad idea itself. Skills could still be there and affect heavily on performance. I'd buy that. This would eliminate the everlasting wrangle plz uselessness while armors/implants/hud/NCU would still require skills as usual.
