At 3:26 pm, I was EXACTLY 6 miles from the hotel... At 4:26 pm, I was STILL 4 MILES AWAY FROM THE &#!@*"# HOTEL! Construction on the A-10 Ouest had like 5 lanes merging into a frickin' bikepath.

So I finally get off the highway, and surprise! My un-updated, 3-year-old, DVD-based GPS isn't half a kilometer off like it nomally is. One minor problem- I forgot this is a city, not like my little podunk backwaterhick town, where we park on the lawn 'cuz the 3-car driveway is blanketed with the pieces of a transmission pulled from pa-pa's 1974 Cheviac Oldsmobuick.

I found a "lot" to park in (looks more like someone claimed squatter's rights on a chunk of pavement)... Of course it's cash only... I just rolled into town, got plenty of $USD... Gotta trade up. Luckily the Royal Bank of Canada is a block away... I did kinda expext to be told a DIRECTION though. I resisted the urge to feed on him... two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left- I eventually found it.

So now I'm parked, lugging 42 metric tons of luggage, and wouldn't ya know it, not a single person walking the streets of Montreal has a clue where the Embassy Suites Hilton is. The wind ripped my umbrella inside out, so now I'm cold, lost and wet.

I arrived in Montreal at just about 3:30pm, and 3½ hours later I've driven 6 miles and walked 106 miles... I don't think I'll ever see my car again (I have absoluely no idea where is in relation to the hotel at this point).

I finally found it and entered my room at 6:50pm... Funcom, the room is fantastic- It made my day! I'd go through it all again, knowing this was the prize. Than kyou so very very much.

Sounds like you had fun getting in guess I'll see ya around 2-3 pm local time tomorrow depending on weather and traffic from the airport.

Me love the embassy suites because they all have the "Managers Special" which you are no doubt enjoying atm.

Just to be clear it is the Bishop St. McKibbiins right? I figure its that one since its closest to the FC offices and furthest from my beloved hot tub. Hmmm...hot tub....anyone got any sake...I love sake and hot tubs first thing in the afternoon it gets the blood boiling and makes the rest of the day seem right.

I-ve almost got it down... I can now find the Royal Bank of Canada im relation to the hotel, which is where I got the cash for the parking space- Should be all set.

What's funny is that I asked a passerby if she knew where the RBC was, and she said 'no'... yet it was just up the street- the same street she just walked down (surprisingly, many people had the problem - Only 2 people knew where anything was, and I've already had three people come up and ask ME for dirctions).

If I were to describe an American with one word, I think it would be "meh." (Considering our collective attention span is shorter than a gnat on crack...) People walking the streets of Montréal? I'd have to say it's "dunno".

**DISCLAIMER** I do not kmow if the people I asked were tourists or locals, so don't take offense where none was implied. This is the safest city I've visted- people don't try to hit 200 miles per hour between stoplights, if you ask where something is they won't just walk away faster, and the "dark alleys" between buildings really aren't that dark. I could get used to living here...

Okay, so I woke up at 9am, and have been figuring out what to do until 3... I know- I'll visit my friends at Funcom! Isn't that why they put the address in the first post? Left the hotel @ 1, took an hour to find it... So I'm looking at the directory... There out is, 9th floor. Elevators need a key card tho...

Okay- took an hour to go 0.6 miles... God knows how long it's gonna take to get to the Biodome... Especially since the address was removed from the post, hehe.

Made it to the Biodome... Line to enter goes around the building. Haven't seen an LFT or Funcom person or fellow AO player since I got here... Beats sitting at home tho.

It's the 10th aniversary of Anarchy Online, and for the first time since Means started with weekly Friday posts, we're left without one.... This sadenes me... best case it it severly delayed, as it was once a few years ago iirc...

I know you are having a celebratio in Montreal, but don't forget the ones not being able to get there... At least throw us a bone that you will get back with a bigger update on Monday...

I realize I may be coming off sounding bitter, but I'm not. I find humor in many things... Like the fact that there are more closed off roads in Montreal than in Fukushima right now, makin' my GPS spontaneously combust. My data plan is gonna bankrupt me, and I pulled both calf muscles walking around trying to find the hotel yesterday. On the bright side, mom always told me I should get out of the house and get some sun, and the sun is... not due to shine until Monday (rain forecast for the entire weekend).

PS - it's 3:53pm and still no LFT sign, so if you see a fat dude sitting outside the Biodome with a Xoom under his arm, say hi to him... Tomorrow, anyone wanna meet up? Call me- Embassy Suites, room 1001... Id like to meet... Someone...

Kintaii tweeted that means and someone else were headed back to the biodome, follow the feed you gimp. Also turn on your wifi I bet there is a free one, and tweet some pics with that xoom.
