Is engineer still viable for the method of farming and if not what profession would be I see tradeskills are needed so I'm thinker trader or engineer are only ones

All of the tradeskill processes mentioned here don't require a huge amount of tradeskills. You could get by with another profession that had spare IP and could up their tradeskills to about 1100-1500. Trader and Engi can get TS in the 2000-2500 range at 220, which is way more than you need to cut pearls, make 2-3 gem sabas, etc.

Keep in mind thou, that some prices listed are definitely not actual any more. But with a bit of cross reference to the gmi, you should be golden.

Rely on fixed incomes, like selling transformed monster parts/gems/metals and some valuable drops like 190+ soul frags.

Roll a prof that can blitz QL200 stuff, NCUs still sell for much, and get a froob (or paid, whatever) trader to benefit from the specialist shop.

Don't bother farming SL or Ai content, too much effort and too few benefits unless you're really lucky and/or you already have a fair amount of credits to invest, there always will be people saying how they made 1B a day afk youporn (well, no, this they won't confess) but never telling you they made 10K the 15 previous days AND spent 2B and days raiding with bazillion orgmates just to stuff their 220, or built their fortune on a very lucky drop.

And never trust a guy telling you he's being a billionnaire just playing 1H a day.
