Okay so once you send a duel request, The duel window pops up, If you try to cancel the request, the duel window STILL stays open until the player zones.
I think 5 seconds for the window to be open after the request is canceled is enough time for spamming not to be a problem.
Today, someone sent me a duel request, They figured I was AFK so they canceled the request and went AFK also, I accepted and beat them while they were still AFK :P

just put a 30 second auto-decline countdown on the request window. also make it impossible to send a duel request to anyone /afk. makes sense imo.

NO, THIS IS A BUG. If a player sends you a duel request, and then presses Esc, or Cancel on the duel request window, you won't get the duel retracted. It will stay there, and you can accept it even if the other thinks he has successfully retracted.Originally Posted by ManGarage
You can tell this by the fact that the duel object that is spawned when a duel request is sent doesn't disappear anymore if you retract, cancel or press Esc after sending out a duel request. Only thing to do is do /duel stop to retract the request if the other is afk

yup. still bugged.
also dueling will flag you if you use AOE attack in duel... duel thing is totally borked atm.
Not sure about using AoE attacks in duels will make you flagged, but I know if someone has sent you a duel request, and the window is up, you can flag and accept and then after the duel gank the person you were dueling for an easy kill :P
er, ya that.
ya the AOE thing I think is wonky though if you flag while the thingy is up.
^^ MA attacks DoTs and self casted DoT doesnt wipe after duel, meaning free solo score and a travel to reclaim [edit] as well. (lovely when I think something but dont type ;x)

actually, it's not quite true. Other than putting emphasis on the "being a bug" thing, which I admit is pretty easy to understand, I gave some evidence of the bug by pointing the attention to the duel item that is spawned so everyone can test that, and proposed the work-around (because it is REALLY a work-around) of doing /duel stop.your post makes no sense, he said its a bug. then u said NO ITS A BUG and stated what he said
