Unable to remove social weapon in combat

Not sure which patch this has got into, but I've feeling not too long ago.

I just noted this on my enf few times, I cannot remove my social weapon while in combat.

I can understand of not equipping one, but not able to remove is often making me just to wait to die so I can remove the social one.

Always been that way as far as I know and its always been annoying as all hell when you forget to take it off or are just goofing around. Being able to remove them would be a nice fix but with the way AO works it would probably break it so you can put them on during combat as well (not that its a big deal)

Well, my memory might be wrong, but I think I used to remove my social gear from fixer while being in a fight, tho that has been a long while ago.

As of equipping social weapon mid-combat, I think it is lesser evil than not being able to get it off.

well someone told me there was some kind of exploit with social weapons in fight
i guess that's like a lot of patches in AO : a band aid for a weird side effect.

imo best fix would be allowing us to fight with the social weapon on. after all, why shouldn't we hide a pistol in a pillow or an assault rifle in a 2 handed sword ?
social = visual without effect/bonus, isn't it possible to make it work like a morph (pewpew from mouth while leeted ?)
