+1 on this one, Phed. The fact that one or more teammembers get instafried adds a certain lottery element to the whole experience. Also, I have noticed that the appearance of flames sometimes is so delayed that players get hit with the flame damage once or twice before even the little flames appear (this happened to me and I've noticed others getting hit before the flames popped).

If you do not have one of the 4 buffs running in NCU and NPC yells out, you get a DOT / Nuke , same if you got the same buff running that he yells out for. thats not caused by fire!

At least a couple of times we got fried by the flame instantly upon initial attack and according to the reports here that also happened to others.

Regarding the nuke/flame issue, there were a couple of occasions in which I looked at my DMG log after death and died from the flame even though I was not standing on a (large) flame. That this also applied to others was by inference, observation, or them stating that it was so.

I think your idea about there being some lag/sync issues may be at least partially correct unless you came across some major insight since we did this earlier.

What happend to "Go there, kill that, don't die"?
First room was ok, but instakill is so fu.. annoying.

Seams to me that you forgot about Ping delay or something, because sometimes we get warned. Others times i find myself standing in the middle of the flames, with no miniflame to warn.

You should stay away from Nano or attack buff at the start it seams.

So what i have observed is dont have the buff he calls to avoid dot, have great internet that directly connects to AO server, and runn like hell!

You need to know what he's gonna shout.
1. avoid nano
2. avoid speed
3. ....i never got this far because either doc dies on 1. random flame. Or i get hit by instant nonwarned flames(lag? Sometimes i get warned like 2-3sec before. Others, none).

Someone help me fill that list, it seams to be static, so it should work.

Hint:
You can stand in the flames an not get hitt by them.

SPOILER:

If you stand exactly in the middle of 4 flames AKA on the the cross between the spawn places you dont get hitt.. This might help people not die on the initial flame.

My team just stod at one of the buff boxes (on one of these crosses) the whole fight. Keep your buff up at all time as the DoT/nuke you get hitt by when he shouts is higher if you have no buff than if you have the wrong buff. IIRC its about 6k with the buff he shouts and 8-13k without any buff.

Hope this helps. oh and we had 2 docs, so that enabled us to stand still the whole kill (not getting other buffs)

The issue is small flames damage you instantly if you are standing on them when they flare. If FC can sort that out the rest is doable.

You can get away from the flames, small ones too, without taking any noticable damage, you just have to move fast. Very twitchy encounter.

so we are on that boss, we kill adds in time and when we hide in box, at some point, the boss himself kills the boxes while we hide from the nuke.. wtf how is it suposed to work out? lol
