    Not having any lag atm with such a low number of players online.
    Used to lag alot when running on older comp but then also dx9 games did run fine with more people standing around and buffing up than ao can handle.

    But if you want to live in the believe that engine has nothing to do with the lagging, be my guest.

    Auras had visuals, what? What secrets do you know about how auras don't cause load problems from constantly doing updates for every player running auras on an area around them.. maybe those ridiculously laggy zerg wars of old and the crowd control system would've been unnecessary had the previous developers been willing to nerf auras.
    Wonder how they'll handle the Conductors, since those also use aoe auras....

    Those % numbers mean exactly nothing, you know and just for comparison's sake, I can run around in OA and have 100 FPs when looking in one direction and the next moment drop to 40 fps by just looking in another, where there's more stuff. Just a tiny number of stuff, mind, nothing huge. Maybe 3 players, some buildings in the distance... and that's on a 3.8ghz Core i5 3570 with 8gb DDR3 1866mhz and a Geforce GTX 680. At the tiny resolution of 2048x1380. Such an old game should run much better, seeing as how modern games like BF3 and Serious Sam 3 sprint ahead at 80-100 FPS at higher resolutions and with more system requirements in the bag. Graphics engine is number one cause of poor performance clientside. Serverside the game has gotten better, but apparently mostly through the bruteforce approach of "better hardware", which isn't really a scalable solution. But seeing as how the old market was apparently running on those same servers, that caused an overhead, and AOEs running all over would've been another.

    They work on new starter-experience, but how about fixing existing issues? With adding the vanguards to WA the start-up city became a ghosttown. So new players who are clueless get no social interaction. The start-up equipment vendors are out of date...etc etc...

    The best solution (but obviously too difficult for FC to implement) would be just to force exchange city shop with tax refund office of the same size and location and do not involve players.

    If anybody does not like it then his org could demolish it. Problem solved

    Throwing more RAM at a server is always a viable solution.

    We just did a bunch of consulting for a company having trouble with their magento shop and their magento provider who refused to acknowledge that they'd set things up poorly. In fact, every page click generated about 200kb html, resulting in response times of about 4-8 seconds on a server that ran only that one shop, compared to the one server that runs our ~50 or so other shops that are in-house developed shops. The provider continued to say that a bigger server was needed, we said that wasn't a viable solution, because if they had issue with 20 concurrent visitors, then what would a bigger server help?
