Just about everybody agrees that title hunting/flag pvp/ganking was the thrill and joy of this game's pvp competition. Why the hell was it removed in the first place?

On a more serious note did flags get removed or is this guy trippin'?
Flags last 5 minutes, so if you die in pvp your nemesis will be unflagged by the time you're fully rezzed

This actual pvp system is... wait, it's not pvp, as you have no chance to lose your title, so is it pvm ?
Because losing a cosmetic title is what defines pvp
Multiboxing and 5mins-flag killed street-fighting. The 5min flags was added around the patch that made healing/friendly buffs casted on flagged players flag you, and iirc it was also due to some 'pvp'-daily that gets exploited by pvm'ers. To carebear the exploiters basicly
Cause it discouraged pvp (afk/meep) and it is the same with negative duel-score. It discourages duelling. I think the old title-system could be reintroduced with some kind of duel-championship that people can voluntarly sign up to. Public scoreboars etc.Originally Posted by Cancercellx

I was talking about original pvp. Flag + titles, ganking for titles is what made this games pvp fun. Also if funcom wasn't so stupid they would have come up with a different set of titles for dueling and left flag pvp the way it was. The game wouldn't be any worse if we had both, but funcom crucified pvp when they removed the whole "competition" atmosphere of the number one headband bitches. Afro samurai yo. Anyways, screw you funcom.
The flag changes were put ig by who again? Perhaps the same crazy person who thought AS pistol (and a whole slew of other crackpot stuff) was a good idea. :>
15 mins was a reasonable time to be flagged. Contageous flags added tons of frustration to the game. Anyone who actually plays would've realized that. It needs to be taken off. The correct way would be to make ppl flag up before they can give a flagged person any positive buffs. That way ppl can't pocket, but won't get flagged without even taking any action to get flagged.
Pvp flags should last at least one hour and a flagged player should only be open to attack by players who are already flagged to eliminate the "x number of unflagged characters coundown assist instakill one flagged player from total safety and hide until their flag is out again" extremely lame pvp. Only then would cosmetic titles make sense. Adding old cosmetic kill-reputation titles with current flag pvp mechanics (5 or 15 minutes doesn't matter) would be most rewarding to mentioned cowardly/lame players with a lot of spare time making it a pretty awful idea, which is why they were removed in the first place. Don't let nostalgia cloud your reason, old titles in their setting were absolutely horrible.
