We have a writer here who is known for ritual sacrifice. It is entirely possible that is his fault.

My Atrox is quite happy, thank you I don't do PR, so it could not have been "PR Speak." It's a new year and time to try new things.

Anyhow, I have been lurking a lot actually. I have been trying not to post because ARK handles these forums quite well, and doesn't need my beak interfering. Michi is doing a wonderful job, and I am just lurking, swooping- if you will.

That will never happen. You can't please all the people all the time. Find something you like and stick with it. The streams were decent, you just needed someone to come along with some actual experience (and not Sezmra's "oh I once came to this place back when I pretended to be serious in the game 13 years ago" and then feeding you plainly wrong information). It's a good way to run through some of the basics of the game, you can archive it on Twitch (or you could, I haven't kept up with them since pre-buyout), then you could have different videos explaining different parts of the game with an actual new player. Someone could help you learn, say, the basics of combat/IP, or the basics of implants/gear, with you asking any questions you can think of, you can then archive it and have it as a resource for any potential new players.

I know I said some things about the streams. I do think they were a good idea, just not the way they were presented as "hey vets, come check out this cool thing", especially with how frustrating it was to try to give you guys the answers to questions.

I know I'd be happy to help them find there footing with twinking info etc while they streamed. It's not like I've got much else to do

Tip #743: As noted in Tip #244, tea bags have an infinite variety of uses. However, there's always one jerk who will want to give you crap over drinking tea. Particularly if in a new town, use this as an opportunity to assert yourself. Any drunken idiot can win a bar fight. It takes a real man to win a bar fight while enjoying a cup of Earl Grey.

I certainly tried to help them out while they were streaming before, but with the delay and the part where they couldn't seem to figure out to dedicate someone to chat, it was very difficult. They'd ask a question, and by the time we could hear the question they had moved onto something else and didn't read any of the answers either from ingame or twitch chat. Then they turned off chat ingame entirely.

On the subject of emulators, a case that I think is worth looking at is Asheron's Call 2. To my knowledge there was little to no progress made on an emulator when the game got shut down. I know making one was believed by most people to be impossible. And yet at some point someone found an old updated install, and some brilliant guys managed to reverse engineer it and get an entire emulator working eventually. In fact Turbine rereleasing AC2 coincided eerily well with the emulator project announcing a huge step toward a fully-functioning release.

I guess the moral of the story is, all is never lost when you have dedicated fans who are also great software developers, and for the love of god don't immediately delete your install. Burn it to a CD or something and lock it away in a closet, someone may be desperately looking for it a few years down the road.

Oh, and if anyone at FC happens to read this, if that unthinkable event does ever happen, please at least consider releasing the source code or otherwise giving us some level of access to it! Even some kind of license to run a private server with a subscription and terms & conditions (possibly a NDA if there's anything that might relate to your other engines) would get at least a few buyers I'm sure. Just anything other than letting the game disappear completely!

Can I ask what level youve gotten to, have you gotten to end game yet? How you are finding Enforcer and your thoughts on the game as a player?

All I have ever hoped for is that when AO finally crashes I get an email that tells me to log back in and I get a chance to say goodbye. And also that Tara is spawned over and over in noob zone and kills everyone repeatedly but RBPs drop 100% until everyone is fat.

Prouver que j'ai raison serait accorder que je puisse avoir tort.

    Less revenue, more restructuring.

On a positive note; Lego Mini-figures is going B2P this summer.

They have 1 year left. Then its all over. I am looking into copyright stuff because of some secret reason and current projects I am working on. (basically includes everything I value from AO)

how can i make post with huge font size and say "THE ENGINE IS COMING" ?

Not sure how you came to that conclusion. I think instead of setting a Mayan end date we could all agree that restructuring usually means slower production of content. Delayed content would hit The Secret World much harder imho, and it got some fairly dubious news just recently or so I've heard.

    I didn't not my words..

"Funcom says that the company, based on current revenue and expense projections, and deferral of loan maturities, have sufficient capital to 12 months of operation since the end of the quarter."
    http://e24.no/boers-og-finans/kvarta...flukt/23454891

So my question is.. what happens after does 12 month?

Ah, I see where you got the "Then it's all over". That only means that they have sufficient capital for 12 months of operations. Any income and <insert accounting term> will change the 12 months. So for example if they earn this year they extend the 12 months. It's very common, this is not the end of days.

EDIT: Although there will unfortunately be layoffs if they're restructuring again. This has most likely nothing to do with AO though.

Not sure where you get this "end of days conspiracy from" not from me.. :P You know how to comprehend a forecast right? Your saying it looks good? Yes if they get there engine out they might be ok, who really knows for sure? I saw they resonantly added a advertisement for a c++ developer for dreamengine. I hope they get that.
