The greatest map in the world! (Tribute)

What you get when you combine:

    http://travel.to/rubi-ka and http://peacefairchild.tripod.com/

and a lot of sheer boredom.

    oh, and a GF4 Ti4600 128mb video card and 1gb of ram.

i am going to try to get ahold of the parties resposible for the maps i am combining, if i cant it will be just for me to use i guess.

the map coordinates are functional, and i am working on an expanded small-map (wompa) based on the 2 maps i mentioned.

I am also going to try to get ahold of somone at funcom to see what the legality of it is to have this kind of information in-game, but i dont forsee any problems.

be warned, the file is bordering 20mb (normal map is about 1.5mb) and i havent tested it in large gatherings to see if my video card implodes...

just thought if there was any interest in others maybe wanting this map too before i pour an excessive amount of time into it to make it user-friendly..

please, i encourage feedback on this cause at the moment i am making it to be a personal-only type thing, and making it all pretty would be a lot of time.

if there is enough interest i will like to do it though.

also discuss how good/bad an idea of this would be.

    thank you

Any chance we could see a lower quality jpg of it, or something? It's hard to say how interested I'd be without a better idea of what it offers.

    Current status.

    Greetings.

I've been working on updates to the in-game (integrating the work both Dovve--with her gracious permission--and I have done). I hope to have the in-game map finished within a few days. I'm also updating the viewable/printable maps and links on the website. I'll also update Dovve's map to reflect the latest grid location additions/changes (and maintaining her current design) if someone else doesn't take on that task first.

Also work is being done to detail all the points of interest, outposts, terminals, camps, dungeons, and so on, on the large playfield maps currently available on the http://travel.to/rubi-ka website, as a travel guide, with corelating screenshots of special points of interest. This has been a work in progress and hope it will be completed within the next month or so.

Two other map websites that offer detailed information are:
http://aoatlas.com/aomapper/index.html (would be wonderful to see this utility upgraded with full color maps and locations)
    http://mmorpgtraveller.tripod.com/

    Be well.

well actually, the map i am using is literally exactly as large as the one in the http://travel.to/rubi-ka site.

    literally that size in-game.

its very detailed, and i was updating it with all the relevant information and fashioning it after dovve's map.

but if your map is just as detailed and large, then i would be interested in using it most definately.

    *** UPDATE ***

here is a teaser of the large map.
    http://juggy_1.tripod.com/Juggymod_teaser.jpg

Actual size of the in-game large map is 3562x4589 pixels & 20mb
    so far at least....

it runs on my system, which is:
    [P4 2.3gig] [512mb RAM] [GeForce 4 Ti4600 w 128mb]

I am working to get it optimized a bit, so i can try to get it under 10mb so i can offer it for download.

I am testing out different resolutions as well.

    Tip, wait for NW

You might want to add the new tower areas to the map

And yeah, that size sound perfect, Im using something like that already (an enlarged Dovve) and it's working as a charm!

i cant add in the new tower areas untill i get the game, in about 2 months

Here is a really crappy-res layout to show you how big the map is: http://juggy_1.tripod.com/Juggymod_bigbirtha.jpg

Here is an in-game screenshot of the map: http://juggy_1.tripod.com/scrn0078.jpg

its got a green-shade in the terrain, because it is a safe-zone.
others have yellow or red hues.
