Since we have a wonderful system for adapting characters when there are changes, namely the IPR points, I think it wouldn't be out of line to give out 'bonus IPR' every time there is a patch. This will let people keep adapting to changes instead of feeling frustrated and burnt out after their carefully built character is castrated by a patch. The number of IPRs given out should match the amount and severity of changes to game mechanics and profession balance, and range from 0 (content only) to 5 (the 14.6 patch that changed the face of PvP).
