Hi guys,
Been doing some recent research with the demon line of pets and trascendent enmity pet, it seems to be generally accepted that the demon hits for more per hit but has a far slower rate of attack, thus hitting for less damage over time and holding agg worse than the tran enmity, this does appear to be the case at first glance but I've been looking a bit closer at exactly what goes on here, I only have access to Lemur and Demon, not Cacodemon so i'm not sure if it applies more or less so for the Cacodemon but what I did find was very interesting.
I'm not sure if there is an attackspeed cap in this game, but I think there is, a tran enmity buffed with chant of effortless strikes and evocation of maddening wrath (always have instill running too but I think that has no effect on attackspeed), is basically indistinguishable as far as I can tell from a tran enmity buffed with high chant of effortless strikes and same evo, tentative conclusion, the tran enmity pet has a very high base attack speed and the huge 390 init boost and 83 aggdef boost does little to speed it's attack any further, agg would still cycle, albeit only briefly in the typical fashion, between myself, my healpet, and the enmity itself.
I tried the same trick on the Lemur to begin with and noticed agg did not cycle after perhaps the first time as long as the evocation was kept up, even if I chain nuked mindquake and debuffs Lemur reliably kept agg with high chant of effortless strikes and the same evo, that I can say for definite, what I may or may not have been imagining with Lemur was that it appeared that it was attacking just a touch slower than your typicall chanted up transcendent enmity, still not as fast, even with the highest available chant running, but often, perhaps every three hits or so I'd see it double hit as the transcendent enmity usually does.
I tried the same trick one more time this time on my newly acquired Demon pet, and it definitely had a massive leap in attacksped, perhaps every off hit was a double hit for massive dmg and when that demon started attacking, he was stealing agg from L140 enfs and L200 slayerdroids.
I've hit titlecap for Arch Deacon so I won't be having access to the Cacodemon for some time, but if it follows the path that I observed between Lemur and Demon, maybe it would even match transcendent enmities attack speed? at least with some of the lesser used, higher level evocations on it as well?
Interesting.
Cheers
Etherael.
