It has come to our attention that certain organisations and individuals have been asking for donations of virtual currency in games like Anarchy Online to charitable causes by saying they will then donate a nominal amount of real money for the virtual currency received. Please remember that not only is the re-sale of virtual currency from AO expressly prohibited by the EULA there is also no means to ensure that any virtual currency given in good faith is not being re-sold for a profit.
If current events like the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina have encouraged you to be charitable we would suggest a much more meaningful and effective method of donation would be to support established charitable organisations like the American Red Cross.
