adventurers are the greatest class ever, for one they can polymorph, for two you can pick from a very wide selection of weapons. For three, they are just cool.

If shields become self only then, to be fair, every buff in the game would have to be self only, excluding the team buffs. Run buffs, essence, evade buffs, humidity extractors, etc. Everything. Could it not be seen just as annoying to a enforcer to see a MA running around critting a lot with UVC and have 1k extra hp? You can say that about any class and any non self only buff?
To remain consistent with your argument an all around self only buff nerf is the only answer.
