    Question AC substracts from Base or Total

    Does Monster AC substract damage from my Weapon Damage or Total Damage:
    Example:
    Weapon: 1-100 (Skills high enough for tripple damage)
    Total: 3-300

    Does the AC make a Total of 3-150 or 3-250 out of it ?

    Question So ?

    I like to know that too.

    Is the weapon damage reduced from 1-100 to 1-50 and then trippled (Skill 800) or is it trippled to 3-300 and then substracted by 50 ?

    This can make a big difference.
    Another Example:
    Wield 2 Pistols 1-100 with a speed of 1/1 and 800 Skill in Pistol.
    They will fire 8 times in 8 seconds for 3-300 damage .
    If they fire at a target with 1000 AC the maximum damage would change to:
    100-100=0 => minimum damage 1=> 1*3*8=24
    OR 100*3=300 => 300-100= 200 => 200*8=1600.

    So what is the answer ?

    I am curious to know where you got the info that having a much higher skill requirement than the weapon will allow you to increase damage by up to three times. As far as I was aware of, that isn't the way it worked, otherwise you would have people who could just "grow into" a gun. Essentially, your newbie pistol could do triple it's amount of damage once your skill got high enough. Please clarify this for me, and clarify your weapon info a bit too please.

    For example:

    Pistol A
    1-100(50)
    1/1
    req. 250 pistol
    req. 130 fling

    Pistol B
    1-50(200)
    1.2/2.5
    req. 400 pistol
    req. 220 fling

    Also please include your initiatives, and any crit buffs that may be running.

    For hypothetical situations, include the monster's approximate level and AC

    He got it from the dmg formula that currently works for everything except MA. (min-max)(1+ams/400) = (afective min-max), so yes, 800 ams triples your dmg output.

    As for the AC question...AC reduces the dmg by 1 dmg for every 10 AC, which gets subtracted after the AMS has been aplied. so with a 1-100 weapon and 800 AMS, you'd be doing 2-200 dmg to mobs with 1000 ac.

    Wow, I never caught that formula before Krneki. Thanks for clearing that up.
