The removal of the Save password feature

Yes, this is one of those things that won't be changing. This decision has been taken after lengthy discussion and is based on our experience with dealing with account issues for over six years.

As we have always said the vast majority of account issues are where players have given access to others to their account. Of all those cases there are two broad categories:

    • Those who willing gave their password to another party (not much we can do about that one either way, just don't do it kids!)
    • Those who unwillingly had someone else access their computer. Usually a flatmate, friend, relative or otherwise.

Now this change means that people cannot fall foul of the second category unwillingly. Even if someone has access to their PC, they cannot access their account without having the password.

This is the main improvement behind this change.

So this change is based on the actual experience we have dealing with these issues over the last few years. When the people in our Customer Service team tell us that this is one of the primary causes of serious account issues then we take notice and make the appropriate change. I know its easy to say 'well that's just bad luck for them' or 'they shouldn't let that happen anyway', but in this instance we can and are doing something to help prevent those scenarios from occurring.

We think that is well worth the slight inconvenience of having to type in your password when you log in.

Please do not repost on this subject as the situation will not change and we have explained this one clearly many times now.

Further threads on this issue will be moderated. We have allowed lengthy discussion and provided clear feedback and explanation on this issue. We do understand that some people would prefer not to lose the inconvenience however this is one change that will not be changing. If you wish to raise any further objections in regards to this change please direct it via email to support@anarchy-online.com.
