PVP, TL Levels and balance

Looking through the LE forums I came across the discussion about why some BS's don't run. http://forums.anarchy-online.com/sho...d.php?t=556150

In essence it seems the following is/was true.

Low BS - TL2-3 runs occasionally due to people testing twinks for towers.

TL4 ditto?


175-199 doesn't run as people hate being ganked by 220's outside of BS
199-209 ditto.

Also if you refuse to join a BS or stay in queue too long ie join up and fail your loyalty bonus of 10 is reduced eventually to 0 then you have to go clear up garbage in borealis to restore your loyalty points...

This imho is a reason to lower the range that can be attacked outside of BS as towers dictate essentially the range people level their toons too.

It's also a main driver in balancing the professions within a proscribed level range.
However I would love to be able to attack level 75's with 200+ ahhh memories j/k

Gaming levels are therefore content driven. Lowbie BS towers, TL5 S10 and not being ganked by 220 (hence a mixed group of 150 and 165-174 in BS), and 175-209 towers. There is one exception 207 where you can gank 165+.

The only thing that makes tl5 BS active from time to time is s10 and lvl 150 people who stopped to get some axp, phats and VP. The easiest solution to make tl3 popular again would be making lowbie APF with max lvl 75 (where AI2 can be perked).

There is simply nothing to do at tl3 and 4. AXP is fast and easy so noone needs it. There is nothing you can do in pvm for profit. There are no battlestations. Nothing. It has nothing to do with balance or ganking from higher lvl people.

Hopefully I made that clear.

TL2-TL4 is only about twinking for towers.
TL5 is a mixture of the two - 150 concentration is due to S10, 165 is the next perk level or nano related - eg Monkey for MP and 170 -174 to stop being ganked by 220's in tower wars.

175-209 is tower related.

People only level to those levels that give a perceived or actual advantage. eg. There is no need for a 207 toon unless you plan to gank a 165+ toon.
