    Exclamation Wear Value

One thing that might be used as a money sink would be the neccesity to repair equipment due to wear after usage.

Many games got it in one way or the other. Diablo comes to mind. Unique items should not wear down as they are pretty hard to come by. neither should specific boss loot. At least not wear down to the level were it cannot be repaired.

Fixers and special repair shops should be the source of repairing of worn down equipment. Shops should repair the item back to its original state, but it should cost a lot depending on ql of the item. While Fixers might fumble and only repair it partially. Maybe even the wear value of the item will be reduced, meaning that the item will break down faster.

Unless an item get fixed it will become broken and unusable until repaired. In some cases even become unrepairable.

As stated uniques, implants, utility equipment should be excempt fromm this. And probably some boss loot that is hard to come by. But weapons, armor, vehicles, tool kits and so on should be affected.

Interesting idea but the point of a money sink is that it sinks money, and not make one profession richer, ie if Fixers were allowed to do it, besides Engis would make more sense in that department.

Either way if something were to be put in like this it should be via machine in shops.

    I agree with you

Making one career benefit from this too much would be wrong.
Shops and machines may guarantee that the wear value of the item will not be reduced when it is repaired, while a engi or fixer can't guarantee that the item will be good as new.

But for money sink purpose, fixing items alone is not enough. Other actions has also to be taken. Like the casino suggestion that was here a few weeks ago and others.

But more importantly it will require the player to maintain her equipment and plan for backup solutions for worst case scenarios. I.e. the über-rifle breaks down middle of a fight.

Umm please no, engineers have enough money sinks already. Mostof the engineer equipment costs an arm and a leg and the constant buffing takes away alot of cash. I still want to beat up the guy who made the main component for armor creation so rare that it costs 80 million.

You have a good point there, seems kinda silly that the pppe's for armor making are so rare an item.

Ugh, I'd really hate this. I've got enough crap to contend with in this game already. I don't need a money sink in the least. Being self-sufficient isn't very profitable.
