Yeah! They pushed the new engine from late this year to starting of the year. And they desided to put it in as 17.8.1 and not its own independent patch to fool us!

well the only thing i really want a new engine for is to make it more efficient.. if the requirements go up along with it they can save it.. the computer i play on while obsolete exceeds the requirements on the website many times over and it still plays like crap.
anyway.. did they ever post any notes or previews of what they expect to accomplish in the engine upgrades?
im kinda curious what they had in mind.

Since it is actually going to use the GPU for graphics processing instead of the CPU, things should improve by quite a bit for everyone, unless of course you're somehow still using an Nvidia NV1 or equivalent.
