  1. #1

    Debian/wine cant update.

I've tried using the old anarchypatcher.exe, i've tried the alchemy that uses the old anarchy patcher while you have the client open. I tried some other stuff too, nothing worked.

Error i get: Unsupported operation was attempted.

    Any ideas?

(also i tried to work with cedega, but my 17.something.version wasn't accepted for installation)

    Wine version 1.1.30
also have also installed IEs4Linux latest version

Mhh doing "rename.ini" search on forum was funny, some 2003 post about such patch problems.

Most funny thing is when you create a "Rename.ini" with nothing inside, the updater.exe write a message about accepting EULA again.
Ofc you had to create this file after the launcher load or its deleted...

Seriously, I dunno what the use of this "rename.ini", a way to force a "accept" EULA after patch?
I found some patch where this file was not added at the end of patch (look .rtd), but many have it.

Anyway I just went online with 18.2 on cedega!!!
So if you got the same message than me on post #2 you can try this.

nb: All the process is done using the old patcher

After first update attempt, quit AO and redo a patch.
If this time the error message come very quickly, (with a minimalist error log about almost only the damned rename.ini and not the whole patching process), it means you game is patched!!!!!!!
Quit AO again, launch it, dont accept EULA, edit version.id from AO root folder and force 18.2.0. (saw that on a 2K3 post!)
    Worked fine for me.

ps: If the second crash give, once again, a big error log, try to copy http://tx3-multi.funcom.com/c/v18.1.3_EP1-v18.2.0_EP1/* into the "Patchs" folders.

ps2: I played alot with my AO folder, so if its not working for you, ill retry it properly.
