Rich person buys 1-year time from playershop

Rich person sells it for creds to someone that cant pay his account with RL money.

FC got thier money, rich person got his creds, and poor person got his playtime so he can play even more AO......to farm credits.......to play AO.

Its kindof like prostitution, poor person provides a service for a Rich person, rich person pays for poor persons crack.


I mean its not like FC's reputation can get any worse anyway.

Any of these can be redeemed on a fr00b account.

Can be redeemed on an upgraded account.

All accounts upgraded with these items gain all the normal benefits of a paid account including Vet Points.

You are not going to buy the 1 year subscription on register.funcom.com,
you only have to buy this little Item in the itemstore for FC Points. But it wont give you the standart FC Points bonus nor Vet Points for this type of subscription! It should be more expensive then the normal subscription cost.
There should be a few items to get this working well:
1. Activate Shadowlands
2. Activate Lost Eden
3. Activate Alien Invasion
4. Activate LoX
4. Activate Full Account (+80 Funcom Points

and that is exactly what this is supposed to stop.

thats the whole point of "legalizing" this sort of "prostitution" , to have it handled by a trusted 3rd party, not some dodgy "pimp".

the plex has killed 90% of the isk farmers/sellers too. i fund both my EvE acc's with plex's

the RL money that goes to buy the plex still goes to CCP and the player in EvE who sell the plex gets there ingame money. its a win win both in game for the player and out game for the company.

EvE is almost as old as AO and still have on a bad day 26k users logged in and good day nearly 50k users

I was just about to say that EVE has PLEX. Pay ingame creds for a tradeable subscription time item. It seems to work well in that game.

Sounds like a WIN/WIN for both Funcom and players.

Charge above the normal 1month price like eve does with Plex as a trade-able item, say for
20 euro's for one month and then let the player market decide how much its worth in-game.

FC gets there $$ and players wishing to get a head start in the game can buy it and sell it in-game keeping veteran players happy at not having to pay a sub.

ive been thinking, FC would get even more money if u cant buy em with FC points, but HAVE to pay RL money for the "colonist .

Because if u could buy em with FC points people would simply pay for like a year then use the FC points of the year to buy free gametime, basicly giving everyone a choice.
Buy portable bank etc or have discount on subscription.

I can see a couple of issues with this from FCs perspective:

• Additional revenue is unknown. Would this actually make them more money, or just switch around who pays for the same subscriptions? If they just go by the people who cited financial issues as a reason for leaving they're probably underestimating the earnings potential here. My impression is that it's attrition combined with a relatively high subscription cost that makes people leave.
  
• Item duping could potentially lose FC a lot of money, so they'd have to implement some sort of unique id for each gametime item to prevent that. It would probably be dev time well spent tho. This would be the most sold item in the shop by far.

Had friend who couldn't afford the AO sub, some years back.
Think he paid somewhere in the region of 200m or so a month.

Basically he farmed up the creds, handed it over, and a month was paid on his sub.
