Thread: Item Assistant for Anarchy Online

Have you only been running an old version? Like v0.8.x?

The executable in the folder from which I took the file is 0.9.5.373. Before that I have no idea what versions they were. Not terribly old. I've usually updated it more often than I now seem to have during the last six months.

I guess there's the (very) distinct possibility that I've accidentally backed up those files from some existing backup directory. Which would make them rather old, from 2007. But then it makes absolutely no sense that the executables in the folder are from 2009. It's weird.

Anyone else having problems on windows 7 with a disabled UAC?

my itemassistant stopped working last monday.. , i ve used it all of the time..

now.. when i start it up.. it dies...
if i start it up with "-log" the log file reads
    ***********************
    Logging Started
    ***********************
    Version: 0.9.7.404
    Current Directory: D:\ItemAssistant-0.9.7.404
Using AO Folder at: D:/Anarchy Online
Unhandled exception caught: invalid string position

i tried to delete the conf file.. and then restarted.
this prompts me to point to the ao dir.. and then dies.
(no conf file being generated... :-( )

i checked file permissions for the AOIA dir.. and it has got EVERYONE full control
same thing for the AO dir.

anyone got any suggestions? i am desperate...
any way of having more detailed logging..

i created a windbg log if someone can understand it..

    exactly the same problem here.

Copied new files accoss, it starts up - needs pointing toward AO folder (every single time it starts)
then begins extracting from the DB - gets to 100% then goes away...

if i restart it, does the same thing

Is it possible to make an export of a search (for instance nano crystals) to a word file with auno links attached to each item?

you can use the "export items to CSV file" option for that (select items and rightclick).
you'll have to open excel and import the CSV file though, not just open it.

There used to be a file called "ItemAssistant.conf", but it doesn't download/create with the newest version.

Open up Notepad. Put in two lines of data (making necessary changes, ofc):

    AOPath=C:/Whatever/Anarchy Online
    DefaultDimension=Rimor (Rubi-Ka 2)

    Save the file as:
    ItemAssistant.conf

Now you shouldn't have to select the AO path at startup & it will remember your default dimension.

Thumbs up Fixed my problem with AOIA

    Hi All,

here is what caused the problem with my AOIA
(and it took a long time to find out...)

in preparation of the server move, i had copied my charxxx dirs from my Prefs\ accountname\ Directory to a subdir called old\ . removing this dir. and leaving only real Charxxx dirs fixed the problem.

Anyone else having trouble since the last patch? Every time I search an item or switch chars, AOIA shuts down.
Dogeared: their fix will probably eliminate the 'sploit that allows you to pass through ''doors'' from one playfield to another. <-- zomg, she was right!

  12. #412
I am using 0.9.7.404 on two PC's and haven't had any problems with it since the 18.3.9/10 patch.

I will add that I also have not "updated" the database; just been answering "No" and using the previously built DB. Doubt it matters, but just throwing that in...

  13. #413
I suppose I'll try a fresh install of it. REALLY looking forward to opening every backpack on every toon again.

Im probably using the latest version, I dont recall when I last updated it though.

Each patch I rebuild the database when asked, so far it works fine for me.

However, it is always possible that, like Clicksaver, theres some "dodgy" entry that makes it crash and youre just unlucky enough to have one somewhere.

I recently had a problem with AOIA.

I don't know how this came to be, but it would ask me to update the database (probably after the latest patch), at which I answered yes, obviously.
Now, it starts, but whenever I was going to search for an item, it would shut down without any error message or notification.

I fixed this by downloading the latest version, and just extracting it over the old one. Might be wise to backup the existing folder just in case.
