    AO Locks Up Computer/BSODs

I have had o stop playing Ao because of this problem that ive been having every time that I try and play it. I will log a character in, any character, and will be doing my thing and randomly but almost 100% of the time im playing my computer will just lock up, or BSOD.

    System Information is:
    Code:
       Operating System: Windows Vista™ Business (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840)
               Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
           System Model: GA-MA770-DS3
                   BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
              Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9500 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
                 Memory: 4094MB RAM
Page File: 1467MB used, 6956MB available
            Windows Dir: C:\Windows
        DirectX Version: DirectX 10
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
         DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 64bit Unicode
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (Omega 1.169.25)
Im thinking (hoping?) that its the video drivers, I havent taken note of the exact error message when it crashes but the drivers are a 3rd party driver because I could find no "vista safe" 64bit drivers other than the Omega drivers which has been good to me in the past. Ill make my PC die again tommorow to get the BSOD message if I have the time. I was just wondering if anyone with a similar rig was experiencing the same problems and if they were able to fix it? The other BSOD/Crash threads seemed to be different "situations" than mine.

Have you tried a memory test, to make sure your memory is good ?

I had a very similar problem, and discovered I had a bad driver, I am not sure since your using Vista, but maybe this link can help. It helped me find my cause for the crash or BSOD. http://articles.techrepublic.com.com...1-5714091.html this may not solve it for you, but may help you in a direction to look

My fix was actually a XP repair and fresh install.

That sounds like a driver issue at first glance.

You might try this if you haven't already:

    1. Right-click on My Computer.

    2. Click on Manage.

    3. Expand Event Viewer and click on system. Look at the right window-pane. Red circles with white X's in them are logs of serious problems (such as BSOD, hardware failures, driver issues). Read the details and also use the timestamp on the log file to determine if it correlates to when you had the BSOD/lockup.

It hasnt died on me yet again since i posted it...which is cool i guess other than it just seems odd, maybe it had something to do with a vista update *shrug* Ill post if it happens again. Thanks for the help though.
