Excel documents are native to Microsoft Word.

Excel documents are native to Microsoft Excel, part of Microsoft Office.
They are in fact not supported by Microsoft Word.

In the spirit of the thing... and since you're being soooo picky.

They are in fact not supported by Microsoft Word.

You can link to or embed an excel file into MS Word and this is supported functionality. So, you can make an argument that Excel documents are in fact supported by Microsoft Word.
