    Unhappy New engine - Brightness aka AO "Starerightintothesun" Addon

    Hi,

    thanks for the engine, its great you guys are still updating AO. Keep up the good work!

    Despite the other bug reports, I must add that at the moment the new AO looks WAY too bright. No matter how you adjust Brightness/Gamma/Contrast. As soon as you zoom out wide enough it gets bright as hell. If you turn down Brightness, Gamma completely it looks horrible. The old AO is way smoother for the eyes, I cant look at the new one more than 10 minutes, before my eyes hurt.

    Anyone else experiencing that?

    EDIT: Forgot, the grid also now looks like someone forgot to turn the light off and the pool in Rome Red got dyed in ultrablue by nasty aliens or clan scum. Dont go swimming there!

    Water in Tir also looks like blue jello - one of many things they need to still adjust.

    it's open BETA (live beta?), things will smell funny for a while.

    with my AMD card. if I close out Catalyst, or exit the profile for AO, I have much more control thru the in game settings, and it's not nearly as bright. just a thought to try maybe. I'm still trying different stuff as well, that's the fun n it imo.

    I like the increased levels of brightness, especially at night times. I'm much more comfortable with that than needing to squint to make out details in an otherwise almost pitch black picture in the old client.

    Also : the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades ! (scnr)
    No further significant work is expected to be done on this project going forward.

    Problem is that light is too bright at times. I personally hate this bloom type of effect...

    Thats the point, Eka. I hate Bloom too - Please include a possibility to switch off Bloom effect in a later patch I even turn off Anti-Aliasing, because personally I like it better the old way with more edges.

    Grab it and configure the bloom. Program pretty much does fc's job of fixing these problems for them.
