Seriously, camping is a lame thing and this game keeps getting more and more of it. It is not our fault that you designed the game this way, nor is it our fault that you've failed address this problem patch after patch.

..but looking deeper, we can find camping to be just on of the symptoms of the disease which plagues the game's design. For instance...

The primary reason we all camp a mob is that said mob drops some sort of uber phat lewt. Mob drops loot, players gather to camp said mob. The way they make items drop off of mobs, they promote camping while saying they're above it. Static mobs dropping static loot causes camping.

The simplest fix? Randomize it all. If a mob could spawn randomly (down to the .1/.1 on the x/y grid), camping would be virtually impossible. Simple as that. If you truly want some fun, keep the spawn times to ZERO and randomize the playfield also. Like maybe designate four to six zones in which say Tarasque could spawn. And then adjust the loot tables of these mobs to make it so that they can potentially drop anything instead of the same old stuff over and over again. Why not?

Anarchy implies Chaos. In Chaos, you have RANDOM acts of violence.

Yet Anarchy Online shows us that the essence of a bunch of lewt hungry teams camping the same NPC mob in hopes of outdamaging all others is more than enough to rename the game to Camping Online.
