Hey, got a few suggestions for changes to the way PvP titles work.
First, change it such that one can only get positive titles by PvPing with the opposite faction. No more killing your guildmates and getting a title, unless that guildmate is the opposite faction.
Second, Neutrals can't get a PvP title, nor should they effect the title of others, they are supposed to be neutral and outside of the war, you want a title, pick a side. In the most realistic sense, killing a neutral should negatively effect your PvP title, as neither side is going to want to have a bunch of dead non-combatants on their hands, its wrong, and it looks bad in the media.
Third, this ones a bit iffy, but make the title something that would decrease over online time. If Rookie Joe isn't killing as many Omni's as he used to, then his fame for killing Omni's may diminish. Institute this with a change in the rules regarding losing a title by losing a PvP (make them a bit more lenient) and now you have people that need to keep PvPing to keep that oh so precious title up.
Fourth, PvP matches in the arena shouldn't affect your title. My guess is that the PvP in AO is meant for two reasons, fun (arenas) or story (outdoor PvP zones). It seems like if a person is fighting their friends for fun they shouldn't develope a reputation as a people slayer (what a title represents imo).
Fifth, as a way to PvP in non-PvP zones you could implement a dueling system, as in EQ, where two people must agree to duel in order for PvP to commence. This sort of PvP would affect your title only if you are dueling with a person of opposite faction.
Sixth, killing a person of the same faction negatively effects your title.
