Funcom's current approach for profession improvement promotes unbalanced professions. They focus on one prof, improve that, and go onto the next. This approach necessarily leads to unbalanced professions, as the currently favored prof gets all the goodies, and everyone else is standing in the corner with their hands out.
What needs to happen instead is that the professions need to grow together. In order to do this Funcom need to have a comprehensive plan that understands, in detail, the effects of changes to professions. This way when a prof gets something to advance their strengths it can be balanced with adding offseting advantages to other professions at the same time. Nerfing would not be required; professions wouldn't grow stagnant.
The current approach is a recipe for complaints, frustration, finger pointing, and competition of one profession against another. At its root is Funcom's complete lack of a plan, and complete lack of understanding of what impact changes are going to have. Profs are nerfed; items are nerfed; professions grow stagnant; profession definition is disolved.
Sorry guys, this is not balanced professions. This is chaos.
