I am playing an lvl 159 Engineer. I have some consideration about the class in general which i would like FC to look into.
1) Pet path and sync problem.
Why this so important? lets give me example of 3 situations.
a. Indoor fight, i order my pet to attack, the fight starts and if the pet get stuck in fight in furniture and you get add's into fight which target you, u are practically dead unless u can hit the exit in time. Or even worse, the pet get stucks b4 reaches the target due all these perspective errors and pet locks himself between mob and yourself how to get back your pet without being forced to leave the area.
b. Outdoor fight, i cannot often not at all order my pet without getting attack at Mort due all dunes makes the pet stuck on the ground. Fight at all outdoors should be the paradise for pet owners according to those read the stats and study the pet classes without playing it. THIS is a MYTH, it sux!
c.If i have to retreat many times the pet get stuck and i become ALONE with the mob. Or when u attack with pet u end upon alone with mob since the pet is WARPED back.
d. In team mission i sense that sync+path problem increases so we pet owner slack behind other which must be tedious for other and this creates a smaller tension between player. "WHY shall we have Engineer they always get their pet stuck when we really need em, we cant rely upon them". This can be solved if all ppl moved in same slow way we do. This becomes VERY acute problem when u get speed buff, even tried move a pet with u indoors while with speed 1000+? Its pure disaster.
2) Why cant taunt trimmer work in PvP as well?
Well about this we can debate for ages but in my opinion the following concepts should work,
a. Engineers should be the only class to have such shields that gives them an advantage to compensate for their loss in damage output.
b. Crat should have pvp nanos that makes the bodyguard to protect them with a chance of failure, working like a) but in different perspective.
c. MP have their pets. They might get some kind of taunt nano to ensure some smaller chance for pet interfere but in less amount as a & b.
I am disappointed to see that Engineers and crat have same nano lines for their pet that give NO charactaristic and flavor to the pet, just a difference in name/skins. Then its much better to put crat and ENG to same class since now we have the situation that a crat is what engineer can do as best but little more.
3) Give pet class clear functionality in game.
In what perspective? Well in my humble opinion i would like to see
a. MP to have more connections to the upcoming dark expansion, to be the manipulator of the dark side. MP should be the master of NP and should have tools (MP only ) tha ensure ppl need em for making items connected to nano-science.
b.crat should affect political situation, like being able to manipulate gas in certain area, being able to draw attention to nearby "guards" ie use em as pets that is. To draft vehicles from official areas. Fighting vehicles etc.
c.Engineer should be able to MAKE pets, preferable same and DIFFERENT from those given by nano lines. Above all i would like to see an differentiation so we can talk about nano-Engineer or robotbuilder-Engineer. We should be able to create vehicles/sentinels to sell them ( with a temp flag ie they last for a certain time preferable more than 1 hour and be lost when u log off). I want to be able to use different type of pet to have little more tactic while playing but please no kamikaze robots, that sounds so bad. Why cant we make pets which can shoot?
Well i have more ideas, but lets rest at these points. Lets be constructive and add comments about stuff what uwould like to see in coming patches.
