Yeah I noticed that too.
If you have a chat window open you can't move around using the cursor buttons.
Request immediate FIX !

Not solving my problem I have always used arrows to type with one hand and controlling my toon with the other besides I avoid using the mouse as much as possible to avoid shoulder pain

Why change the function to begin with? That function is already covered by shift+arrow keys.
Noticed this also, don't like it. 4 years of behavior in game and now I keep zoning into area i don't want to zone into cause of old habits. Please fix back to original before this patch :P
when holding W, press and hold shift, let go of W, then let go of shift. press enter, type fast, enter again to send message and use a and d to turn left and right. if you need to adjust, hit escape midtyping and use a/d again. it's ghetto but it works.
i ran into walls and had a few spasms while in /tells today!
Wait, wait. There is (or was) a more elegant way to do this? I usually click out of chat (instead of ESC which clears entered text & closes chat) to adjust my toon's direction. If there's something less ghetto then I want to go to there. I'll have to try out the mouse wheel when the servers're back up....
Hope this gets fixed soon i havent been able to feel the pain of it though.
But I do use the crap out of the arrow keys when im chatting!!

You can, just initiate the chat by some means other then enter.
As for typing while running i have no trouble with it l2numpad0
Fix please, or at least give us the choice to disable/enable that useless function, wich btw was not mentionned in patch notes, and makes it harder to play for everyone i talked to so far.
I hate that change. Also alt+enter is F* up now too.
So far all this patch has accomplished is annoying the hell outta me.
Custom binding are nice but stop messing with my controls!
I wanna fight mobs and players not wrestling with the controls.

You missed the point. The autorun is not the problem. Before you could type and use arrows to adjust the direction you are heading without leaving the chatfocus and continue typing. Now arrow keys do not work and if you use the mouse the chatwindow looses focus.
