I'm sure whoever modeled for it is popular with the ladies because of his index finger, but scaling it down would made players easier to select cathegory. Atm the tip of finger is on one cathegory and the majority of hand is on the next.

I agree it looks a bit silly, but there shouldn't be any doubt which category you are actually selecting. (hint: It's the one the hand is pointing at with its pointy finger)
