    Heroic versions of existing AO instances

    I know people complain about Wow-ifying the game but there are a few things that WoW does that I think would be cool in AO. One of these things are the WoW heroic dungeons.

    For those that are unaware of WoW's dungeons.. heroics are basically a duplicate copy of a regular dungeon/instance. The bosses and trash mobs in heroics are scaled up to the target heroic level. (For instance, there are lower level dungeons whose heroic version are available only to endgame toons and the mobs/loot are scaled appropriately). For the most part, the loot table in heroics is the same as the regular version with the only difference being the ilevel (WoW version of QL I guess).

    An example:

    Crypt of Home
    Level range: 1-100
    Item: Blinded Blackbird (QL 105)

    Heroic Crypt of Home
    Level Range: 101-200
    Item: Blinded Blackbird (QL 200)

    ------
    I'd love to see heroic versions of all of the RK dungeons from the Subway to Inner Sanctum as well as potential heroic versions of things like Team Dark Ruins, Alappa and Pande. Heroic version level ranges do not have to always be immediate step ups from the regular version. Think of how cool it would be to go in to the subway on 210+ toons and have an actual challenge getting through the content.

    As far as I can tell the only things that would need to happen (and not trying to simplify it, I'm sure this takes time as well.. but not as much as creating a dungeon from scratch I'd think) is:
    - Duplication of the regular dungeon
    - Establishment of a new level range and making the appropriate change to the entry requirement
    - Changing the level of the mobs/bosses
    - Changing the level of the loot table in the heroic version
    - Alternatively, there COULD be an addition of 1 or 2 rare and brand new items (like a vehicle or pet) in the heroic version for social purposes.

    I'll also add that locking these dungeons so people can't be warped in that are below the level range and making it such that you have to be part of the kill team to loot would be perfect.

    I know the AO team has a lot on their plate but still hope this is something that will be considered when time is available.

    Edit: This could also be done, in a way, with Tara. The current version could be level locked to less than 200 toons and then create a heroic version of the dungeon and tara that is 201+.

    That's one of the main reasons that dungeon works for me. It's that kind of continuity that appealed when I started playing, and still does now I guess.

    not really something lvl220 toons would want for themselves.

    That example wasn't for level 220 toons And it was just an example.. the devs would need to work out the stats on the upgraded heroic versions of the weapons based off of the level range they lock it to. Heroic doesn't equate to 220 content.. in the example I gave, the dungeon would be locked to 101-200 toons.

    As for Inner Sanctum, it isn't a heroic version of ToTW from what I've seen (and btw that is my favorite RK dungeon).. it is just a continuation of the storyline.. progression I guess.

    Heroics aren't different dungeons.. they're the same, just tougher.

    Yes, agreed on the loot.. and that is a good example of the scaling I am talking about in relation to a regular dungeon versus heroic.. except the dungeon would be exactly the same.

    Yeah, give him a Pistol with Full Auto AND Aimed Shot, both with easily reachable caps.
    On a serious note, I do like the idea of a TL7 version of Foreman's, and I feel the "bodyguards" should be like the weird Red vs Blue laughy-cry-ee faces with the miniguns. There needs to be a TL7 Heavy Weapon.

    bump for an elite / heroic version of dungeons/instances (add a menu like city/land exit to choose classic/elite).

    but please don't make "elite/heroic" like "old" step of madness.
    insane hp mobs aren't heroic, they're boring.
    but more hp/ac and higher damage + new features could be fun and challenging (why not an elite boss with new attacks (single, aoe nukes, burst / full auto, aimed shot).
    well, mobs using the same toolset we use.

    about loot, what about +50 ql on items, like a ql 350 armor or pistol/bow/rifle/whatever) ?

    Bigger does not mean better; this game needs difference.
    Two handed SMG with Full Auto, Fling Shot and Burst, but with slightly lower damage than D-shark or Anger, making for a choice between an extra hit or harder hits.
    Two handed spear, perhaps an upgrade for some weapons such as the SoFC.
    A pistol without a dual wield option, but has Burst and Full Auto, making it a heavy pistol of sorts.
    As I said, some high damage, high AC/HP adds which don't respawn but are really damn tough and are impervious to Cratting. Something which isn't 2 mannable with Doc/Crat, and wouldn't need a crat at all!
    Different things, not bigger.

    Like the idea of a "Deeper Dungeons" version of Abandoned Subway for example. It would be a real challenge and fun to revisit old stomping grounds with some serious opposition.

    I would bump Heroic outdoors and or non-instanced pande.

    I did ask Means abot supersized mercs a few years ago, he was not negative to the idea but.... soon™

    in most of games, elite/heroic instances are exact copys of existing dungeons with scaled difficulty, and sometime new mobs inside.

    loots are supposed to be better inside heroic/elite, like dyna bosses drops which are supposed to be harder than other ones.

    but we already got really high improvements in the last months, and as said before, it would be also nice to have alternative drops to allow us to have more viable setups, and less cookie cutters.
