Thread: My Plan for my Opifex Bow Doc

  1. #1

My Plan for my Opifex Bow Doc

Hi everyone, I have both AI & SL Expansions, and I am making an Opifex Bow Doctor (yes, I like to be different ), and am planning to powerlevel her. The main criteria for putting forward such a plan is to maximise levelling speed at minimal cost. (Doing uber damage at high levels is not in my priority list)

(At this point of time, I have already camped/bought my Elysian Protector's Cuirass, Predator Armor pieces, and a Cure for Baldness, as well as some hand-me-down Carb sets and Reanimator's Cloak).

Would like to get your comments and constructive criticism on my plan, such that I can improve my time and cost efficiency.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: I've divided my plan into stages, such that I don't have to upgrade my equipment too often, and yet avoid being gimp.

Stage 1: Starting Up (Level 1-15)
    1) Level up in backyard. Attain 2 AI Levels.
    2) Get yourself a free Robe of the Faithful at ToTW
    3) Proceed to Subway, Nascence or RK missions for quick XP

Implants Check: Anything, they don't really matter at this stage
Armor Check: Medsuit will suffice for now
Nano Check: Just buy the best nanos you can get. They're cheap.
SL Perk Check: Alchemist 1 (For extra DoT)
AI Perk Check: Embrace 2 (Mistreatment pwnzors!)

    Stage 2: Token Grind 1 (Level 15-44)
    1) At Level 15 (or even earlier), get into a set of storebought QL30 Implants (Optional, really!)
    2) Run 40% missions to get your 120 tokens. This allows me to powerlevel in the next 2 stages without worrying about my token board for a while. At 2 tokens/mission, 60 missions will easily get you to L35.
    3) At L20, get myself an Exarch Robe, and any other goodies my friendly Org twink will help with (especially DMs and GCB).
    4) Once I've hit your 120 tokens, powerlevel to L44 with 60% missions, Nasc hecks, or whatever else suits your fancy.

Implants Check: Get into QL70 storebought implants (doable by L30ish)
Armor Check: Replace Medsuit with some decent armor to speed up your levelling. (I used QL58 Omni Carb)
Nano Check: Just buy the best nanos you can get. They're cheap.
NCU Check: You should be able to fit in GCB + 5 DMs easily using QL50 Complit implants. (I did it at L28)
SL Perk Check: Nano Surgeon 1, Alchemist 1, 2x Anything
    AI Perk Check: Embrace 2

Stage 3: Camping Time (Level 44-60)
Level 44 is when I can gain xp while teaming up with a L60 partner, allowing you to gain xp while doing the following:
    1) Camp ToTW for the remaining stuff (Chalice, Rings, Shoulderpads, weapons)
    2) (OPTIONAL) Camp Aztur for his Holy Book of the Immortal
    3) Not keen on camping the (very useful & cool) Book? The fastest way to gain xp is via Nasc Hecks.

Implants Check: No change. (Unless you're a perfectionist)
Armor Check: QL60-80ish Carb would suffice. (I'm lazy, so I don't intend to upgrade my QL58 Carb)
Nano Check: At least QL50 nanos for Heals, HoT, Team HP boost.
NCU Check: Your previous setup would suffice for many levels.
SL Perk Check: Assault Force Medic 1(L60), Nano Doctorate 1(L50) Nano Surgeon 1(L40), 3x Enhanced DNA
AI Perk Check: Opifex Primary Genome 2 (Sense boost for Stage 3 armor)

Stage 4: First Twinkage Session (Level 60-80)
    1) By Level 60, you should be able to fit in a set of at least QL125 Implants.
    2) I am buying a set of Predator (Boots, Sleeves, Gloves & Pants). If you wanna get Pred on early, look here.
    3) Get into a 6-slot belt with better NCUs if possible.
    4) Get some help, and get Enhanced Pads of Dedication and a possibly a VTE.
    5) Run AI Raids whenever possible. AI Level 8 is a 'possible' dream at L75.
    6) By Level 80, equip Reanimator's Cloak, Elysian Protector's Cuirass and Cure for Baldness.
    7) Get keys for Gardens of Thrak and Shere.
    8) Gain xp via Nasc Hecks, Hackers or even claws. (really slow levels here)

Implants Check: QL125 Custom implants (Optional if you're not going Pred Armor)
    Armor Check: Look here.
Nano Check: At least QL90 nanos for Heals, HoT, Team HP boost.
NCU Check: 6-slot belt, upgrade NCUs.
SL Perk Check: Assault Force Medic 2(L80), Nano Doctorate 2(L80) Nano Surgeon 2(L80), 2x Anything
AI Perk Check: Champion of Nano Combat (up to 5 points)

    Stage 5: Powerlevelling (Level 80-100)
    1) Just do Ely Hecks. Grind grind grind. Finito.
    2) If I'm sick of hecks, I'll run down to Utopolis (Shunpike statue) and get T1 Insignias and Spec 1&2.

    Implants Check: No change
    Armor Check: No change.
Nano Check: At least QL100 nanos for Heals, HoT, Team HP boost.
    NCU Check: No change
SL Perk Check: Assault Force Medic 3(L100), Nano Doctorate 2(L80) Nano Surgeon 2(L80), Genius 1, [Specialist Healer 1 or Weapon perkline]
AI Perk Check: Champion of Nano Combat (as many as possible)

    Stage 6:Token Grind 2 (Level 100-140)
    1) At L100, it's easy to fit into QL160 custom implants.
    2) Run 40% missions for until 400 tokens.
    3) Complete farming for T1 Insigs, Embryos.
    4) Complete Shere Sanctuary Key
    5) If possible, get Joker's Glyph
    6) Complete Spec 1&2 (if not done earlier)
    7) At Level 130, get Scheol ring, Adonis ring, and Adonis Garden Key
    8) Once all that is done, run as many 40% missions as humanly possible to get nearer to 1,000 tokens.
    9) Once done (or sick of missions), grind some more at Ely Hecks

    Implants Check: QL160 Custom implants
    Armor Check: No change.
Nano Check: At least QL150 nanos for Heals, HoT, Team HP boost.
    NCU Check: No change
SL Perk Check: Assault Force Medic 4(L120), Nano Doctorate 3(L120) Nano Surgeon 3(L120), Genius 2(L110), [Specialist Healer 2 or Weapon Perkline 2]
AI Perk Check: Champion of Nano Combat, Weapon perkine, or AI Tech Expertise 2 (if necessary)

    Stage 7: Powerlevelling 2 (Level 140-175)
    1) Start powerlevelling Ado Hecks
    2) Get Penumbra Garden Key
    3) Alternate between hecks and SL missions for some faction
    4) Complete 1k Token board if not already done
    5) Do AI raids for more AXP and perks.
    6) Finish Spec 3 by L175 for Cellular Recuperation
    7) Complete Uncle Bazzit's quest for ATE L3
    8) By the time I get to L160, I will be breed/title-capped for treatment. This is when I will get the following Support Symbs (in this case, I am willing to burn a big hole in my pocket )

    Enduring Brain QL190
    Active Ocular QL170
    Growing Ear QL200
    Awakened Chest QL180
    Awakened Left Arm QL180
    Awakened Left Wrist QL180
    Awakened Right Hand QL180
    Growing Thigh QL200
    Enduring Left Hand QL190
    Awakened Feet QL180
    Right Wrist Implant (Runspeed,NR,MMelee) QL200
    Right Arm Implant (Bow,PhysInit,RadAC) QL200
    Waist Implant (ChemAC,Sense,BM) QL200

    Implants Check: Stated above.
Armor Check: Replace Pred Armor, with maxxed Tier1 Sleeves, Pants and Gloves. Look here. (I'll be swapping Pred boots with Inferno Boots eventually)
Nano Check: Cellular Recuperation at L175, Complete Heal + Lifegiving Elixer at L150, best RK nanos, SL DoT,
NCU Check: Morphing Memory, Yuttos Modified NCU, 2x Viral Memory Storage Units, QL200 Hardcore NCU Upgrade, Viral Recompiler.
SL Perk Check: Loads of choices, reperk as necessary.
AI Perk Check: Loads of choices, reperk as necessary. (AI Tech Expertise 3 is nice!)

Stage 8: Endgame Fun (Level 175-220)
Anything will do at this stage, but here's some stuff I will definitely want to do:
    1) By now I should have ditched my blue cloak for something more presentable
    2) Raid Mercs for Breastplate of Azure Reveries
    3) Do lots of AI Raids
    4) Get 3-Gem Arul Saba's x2
    5) Gradually upgrade Symbiants and Armor after L200.
    6) Get other phats... Too many to name...

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any comments and constructive criticism on my plan, such that I can improve my time and cost efficiency?

If you want to powerlevel, get predator vest (+xp) and Ljotur sleeves (+xp) and support crepuscule boost (+xp) and xp rings and ...

My main question is tho ...
Do you want to powerlelvel by yourself or with help? (ch doc, enf, mp)
imho you make way to many breaks to camp stuff/equip/twink stuff.
And why chose the worst doc lvls to token grind 2?
at lvl 100 dual CDR are already crap for solo, same as jame is on the lose for a doc already too.

    To sum it up:
do you intend to lvl by kill stuff yourself
    or
do you have a team of friends helpping
    or
do you have a doc/enf/mp to level you?

Good point on +xp gear. (I am content with my 2x 4% xp Rings, 7% rings are too expensive for my taste )
I can easily get my hands on a Pred Vest, and use it if I don't need the -5% NanoCost from my EPC.
Unbecoming Sleeves of Ljotur looks nice, but prob only useable after TL4. (any idea how much they cost?)

Hmmm, for my Grind 2, I'm not there yet. I figured it would be better cos:
    i) I will get my first SL DoT: Mutagenic Venom
ii) I can benefit earlier from the 1k token board at TL4.

I'm not too familiar with Doctors' potential damage output profiles after TL3. Can anyone enlighten me on the easiest time to token grind?
(L150 or L175 comes to mind. hmmm....)

I intend to kill stuff from L1 to L44. After that I have a nice Org to help me, and it's easy to get into teams as a doctor at Ely/Ado hecks.

It might seem slower than a mission, or less, but spanking around clan guards for a little bit a day for the 1 point tokens is my favourite method. I've gotten myself some OTAF gear this way as well. Kinda rewarding, and much easier (and normally faster) than a mission, to meet your usual token reward. I can get one or two tokens a minute, beats missions down...

Clans, Find and Replace- Clan guards = omni guards
    OTAF = Sentinel

Stillian, you're talking about the guards at the Tower Research Base NE of Wailing Wastes? What level are the guards, and what level should I be to be able to do this with moderate speed and safety? Thanks!

price drops a lot lately since the GA sploit got fixed.
Well, u can get up to like ~75% extra xp witht he right stuff.
thinking about tl reqs on some and such +50% are stil obtainable pretty early.

imho, when talking about powerleveling, you try o grind as much xp/sk in as low time as possible.
Especially al low lvls that involves a high toon helping out or some others to boost dmg.
if u have some doc/mp for healing u can take on much higher mobs early and enfs or ch docs on hecks just rock.
if you do it by urself, or regular teams, where u have to fulfill your role, there are many many more things to consider.

    at 100 ur Dots suck.
    they do at 175 too.
    and at 200.
from 207 on, they are okay.
100 = 5 tokens/mish (wich sounds good) but if u solo 30% mishs (lowest possible t oget green mobs at lvl 100) these will already take AGES with dots/cdr/jame.
so you either get tokens in team mish (and grab xp otw too) or screw tokens and token farm at 207 (all sl dots, uber dmg)

Docs dmg output pre-tl7 sucks, simple.
    (imho)
pre-skillock nerf i farmed a lot of tokens at tl3 usually since dual-CDR with maxed skill-lock imps have been awesome. (ql100 imps = tl3, 101=tl4)

Get some ppl to roll new toons to team up with and deal dmg.
If you go solo/pickup team be prepared to need some time.
Can only speak for RK2, but There are teams in ely?!? last time i checked it was all camped by kiters and i just moved directly to sheol ...

Sounds like a pretty solid plan.
I think you will be happy with an Opi-Bow-Doc.

You even have the option of using Bow of Belith as an Opifex.

Yep, I was mulling about which breed to choose, and was trying to convince myself that Opifex was too common and thus too boring. I was considering mid-game weapon options when I stumbled across them in the database.
Seeing "Breed == Opifex" on that bow gave me an incentive to go Opifex instead.

Thanks Deathstalker for the info. But I think I'm too impatient to wait till L207 to get tokens, so I will go ahead and try the token grind anyway.

About my L100 weapon choices, I'm thinking of using a QL111 Inamorata Bow to try out my L100 Token Grind 2 (QL130ish Bow of Ferocious Appetite and Double Nimbus look hopeless in comparison). Hopefully I can earn 2501 Unredeemed faction points while I camp my Spec2 in Elysium.
If it takes as long as you describe, I'll just shelve it till TL7 and resume levelling.

Some things tho, to perhaps improve ur plan:

Stage 1: Starting Up (Level 1-15)
After lvl 5 (ICC BY) grab a DD friend and ding 6-10 in the SL BY and twink into QL30 imps at lvl 10.
    Goes very fast and cheap.
Grab Thrak Key at lvl 10-15, helps with travelling. (Weavers at Frontier Border, decent xp too)

    Stage 2: Token Grind 1 (Level 15-44)
At that level 30% mission will still work. (40% mission are needed at 125+)

    Stage 5:Token Grind 2 (Level 100-140)
30% missions still work up to lvl 120ish, from 125 on u start to get greys in 30%.
(Just a very few greys, but 1 is enough to end up with 95% and be unlucky)

    Stage 6: Powerlevelling 2 (Level 140-175)
Faction gain in pen missions will be as good as inf if pulled the right ql mobs. (ql 250+ FoCamaVanya and ql 250+ FoGalahad/Mordeth all have 50k cap)
You can use a full set of growing symbiants at 146.

    Good luck, keep us updated.

Personally, I'd skip the Tier Armour farming except to the extent you need pieces for the shoulderpads (which you won't want to wear until TL7, BTW). The rest of doc Tier Armour is, well, suboptimal. If you're Omni, spend that time getting the pieces for Omni-Med Battle Armour instead.

Oh, I trust the Reanimator's Cloak you camped for this toon is still just the pieces needed to make one, yes? The Cloak is NODROP.

Of course. I'm not that BIG a noob That's why I'm waiting till L80 to equip it cos I'm too lazy to go beyond simple CL implants.

Hmm, with an okay setup, it can be done at 160 and over, quite fast.

It's super fast at 200, obviously, if you feel like waiting that long.

If it takes as long as you describe, I'll just shelve it till TL7 and resume levelling.
For RK (mission grind), the Schuyler bow is quite nice. Available from the trader shop.

    Quick Update!
My Doc has hit L43, earning 122 tokens in the process , and will be starting my Aztur Camping soon. While I'm there, I'll just farm exarch robes during respawns, and maybe pop by GoT to rummage a GTA, just for kicks.

Sidenote: A QL128 Schuyler Bow looks perfect for me at L100. I'll just have to log my trader and start camping for it. Thanks for the tip, bockrock!

While I'm not committed to bow until endgame, I'm kinda bored with melee now as my last 2 active toons were a 2HE Enfo and a 1HB Trader. Possibly I could dabble in some PvP later on, as I already have an Engi for my basic tradeskill needs.
    To all you Enforcers:

In battle, you fall before your teammates do, and even then you alway give a good account of yourself to your foes. By excelling in crowd control, you make yourself a valuable tool to any team. Ah, a change is always nice. As you can see from my sig, my previous toon, MP, is a pistol user, so I wanted melee for a change.
    Malik23 - 212/13 Neutral MP - My current setup - Current Gear
Doctamalik - 216/18 Neutral Doc - Current Gear
PvtPile - 150/16 Neutral Soldier - Lots of good stuff :-P
