Geforce 6800, most recent release drivers
Haven't tried the beta ones yet
Lists "Primary Display Driver - RGB Emulation", ""Primary Display Driver - Direct3D HAL", ""Primary Display Driver - Direct3D T&L HAL", and repeats with "NVIDIA GeForce 6800" in place of "Primary Display Driver".
Something interesting I noticed while looking around -- apparently, when launching the 17.5 client, at the EULA screen, the files "cd_image\data\launcher\AnarchyLauncher.prefs" and "prefs\Main.cfg" will be deleted if they exist. I'm guessing it's a side effect of the launcher changes (the altered config screen and the new password) -- the client's getting rid of the old, but isn't porting them over to whatever the new position is correctly. If you could let me know where the config data is supposed to be now, perhaps creating a dummy file would present a workaround.

Here is the error msg i get from going from live to test w/ a fresh copy onto my slave drive.
Using:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
4094MB RAM
1 TB Total HHD Space
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
SyncMaster 226BW(Digital)
Speakers (SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio)
Windows Vista™ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_rtm.061101-2205)
played around w/ moving old files from live back to test but cant get them to save the settings even with running anarchy as admin

We cant reproduce this at all still so a couple of other questions to maybe find a common thread
Are you using custom GUI files?
What operating system are you using?

had this problem although made a hole new test instalation(new dublikator) now it works (X1900 crossfire GPU amd64 x2). it seems like the client doesn't safe the graphics settings after pressing ok on the setttings view. The entry boxes in the window were blank everytime i reopen it.
After i delete my ao install and reinstall my ao install i make the testserver dupli and i see i can log in to the testserver and yes befor i have the misato gui!
Ok, so making a duplicate install (default GUI), patching that, duplicating the default GUI install, and then using the default GUI version... works!

Coulda just dl'd the 17.4 clean GUI tho Guess I'll try doing that myself
edit: done, and works fine now. So be sure to have a default gui when you duplicate and it'll work fine probably

I have an ati 9800pro 256 and the test client doesn't save any of the settings.
when i try to log into a char it says i have no graphics device selected.
I agree
i dled and patched in the 17.4 clean gui into live then copyed to test. then i patched test and the first time it didn't work i went back to settings they were saved and it let me on test woot!
I run a custom GUI and I was having the same probs, this is what i did to fix the problem.
1. Delete The folder i had for Testserver (Funcomtest)
2. Copy Funcom folder.
3. Paste Funcom folder (Copy of Funcom).
4. Download and replace custom GUI with origonal 17.4 in my Copy of Funcom Folder (found a few posts up).
5. Double Click the AODuplicator Tool.
6. Fill in information accordingly.
7. Click the Duplicate button.
8. Wait for it to finish Duplicating.
9. Open the testserver client.
10. Click on Settings.
11. Set all settings.
12. Play AO.
The reason i copied my Funcom folder and replaced the GUI in the copy is so that i didnt mess with my "real" setup. By doing this, i have a custom GUI, a Clean GUI, both pre-patch, and a clean test GUI
