They just need to nuke Ent / Tir arenas and in place put two gnarly 0% casinos for society to gather and have a good time....

Actually the real point is to have no one armor/weapon be "the best" for all situations. First off, if they had wanted there to be variety in armor, they should never have made it so all armor gives AC for everything. Having most armors be specialized to 2 or 3 different ACs and have NO protection in the rest would mean folks would be required to have multiple armor sets and pick a set right for a group of enemies they'd be fighting. For one thing, it would make AC buffs pretty darn sought after.

As for weapons, if they did the same with mob ACs, and made the mob evades such that most mobs are weak in one type of evade, then you would have to select the right weapon for the right occasion as well.

Unfortunately, Funcom already missed their chance for that, and changing it now would result in a somewhat universal "NERF!" scream from almost the entire playerbase. In fact, a change like that might make quite a few leave. Also, with Funcom ignoring innovative ideas like those posted in the "Dream Mission..." thread and a continued increase in camping, this game is going to actually get even worse.

Arrow Theres some distinction now, with certain visible items

MkII = 146+ (Mk1 is 91+ but not many wear it, and no hood)
    Dragon Body = 130+
    Dragon Other = 100+
Albrecht = usually 100+ (easy to tell on solitus)
1k Board (though have to manually show it) = 100+ and typically 150+
    Gay Hood = 120+ usually 150+
    Padded Coat = 100+ usually 130+
Helm of Spirtual rites (off color plasteel) = 175+

MkII and Gay hood can be faked though

Hellspinner = usually 175+ sold (though 71+ any class can wear the lower one, they typically don't)

Pretty soon EoT will mean 200 enf or pre-14.6 <200 enf only.

Queen Blade is various levels, I'm too lazy to look it up but around 150+

But honestly...click on people and press T if you really want to know. Is it really that hard? lol

If these ever drop, they will be dead giveaways:

Notum Tanks: Blue Tanks 175-190+ (drool)
Azure Armor: Nice texture light blue plasteel: 175+ (/faint)

BTW AC means very little in general.

You won't be seeing newbies in the new yalms either if the database rip is right. 750 air is the lowest I saw lol.

um you won't see lvl 200's buying/using those new yalms either. IMO they totally missed the mark on them Making them 50-250mil to buy and so that if your skill isn't green forget about it is just dumb.

Only way I would even consider them is if I could attack from the air in them and they gave attack/armor bonuses (something the omni gunship SHOULD have done but never did)

Where did you hear they would cost 50-250M? Last sunday, GM Longshot said on Gridstream that they were going to be very rare and that they wanted people to feel special when they got one. Making them 50-250M would mean many people would be able to buy one.

Unfortunately, Funcom is limited by the Real World. Having an idea and implementing it are two very different things.

The nerf scream would come because it would be a big nerf. And I'd be right there, screaming my head off.

And I wouldn't blaim you. What I was saying is that they should never have changed the armor to be like it is now. Once they changed it, changing it back would make too many people leave. There are some worms you can't put back into the can. The key is not opening the can in the first place.

w00t! you and me both baby!

My little MA hates the pajamas and I have adopted a much more unique and stylish approach while maintaining good AC and no matter what I do, I have HP hanging out my rear compared to my MP, so I never worry about it.

MA solitus, average height (except when i got the shrinking bracers on) and weight

-Back slot: Aura Magnifier (my only truly rare and kinda uber item)
Adds +20 to all damage types and +15 to MA

-Chest: QL200 kirch vest. I lose 80hp versus an mk2 chest (which I also have), but gain 20 to all evades, 20 to parry, which allows me to use a ql200 BwT, 20 to riposte (heh not used yet), and 5 to psychic, sense and agility. No way MK2 beats that...

-Sleeves: Spirit Focus tattoos which have little AC, add a little hp and each one adds 7 to martial arts. Oh yeah, that's a keeper. BS missions are too fast, I don't worry too much about dying so the little loss in hp and ac is worth the tradeoff to pack a slightly bigger punch

-Legs: QL175 kirch pants. looks better than my MK2 pants, 5 to sense, agility and psychic is worth the small loss in hp

-Boots: MK2, it looks like kevlar. I played with so8, which looked decent but I deemed the hp hit might be a bit much with that one

    -Gloves: MK2, it matches

    -Head: MK2 hood, see above

-Shoulders: Alvin pads (omni pads look SO much better)

So I got this sorta rugged biker look going for me, with some nice bonuses. Best thing about it is if the boss room is nasty, I hot swap for the red pajamas and mk2 sleeves for some more hp.

I recently got slammed by Zylina for wearing Kirch instead of MK2, which I totally did not understand, as I think my look is somewhat unique and somewhat stylish and I stand out in a crowd.

Now major props goes out to Squiggle2, Atrox MA, who I see roaming newland alot. Near as I can tell he's got

    so8 sleeves and gloves
    MK2 chest
    so8 pants
    mk2? boots
    mk2 hood

On an Atrox, that setup looks pretty pimp and he's an easy guy to spot.

so overall, there's nothing wrong with being a bit different. In this game, there's too much of a drive to be like the next guy, as it is the 'best' setup. My advice is to find something with good bonuses, yet maintain a unique sense of style that sets you apart from the other folks in the game. Cookie cutter can be boring (thedeacon is as generic as they come with full mk2, albrecht and x3).

Create a separate template for pvm regular, pvm boss, pvp, social, etc.

I'm sure once I hit 180 ill be wearing ql200 servants of 8 armor, yet I still plan on mixing things up a bit to find the look that's 'just right' for me
