Den Smuggler Broker and Post-18.7 Grafts

For the purposes of clarifying the new graft vendor's location and potential inventory, and also the effects this may or may not have on pre-existing Symbio and Boosted grafts, I spent some time camping out in the Smuggler's Den with the Den Smuggler Broker. Here's what I've found.

    General Info:
    • Located at 48 x 182, in one of the Western-most rooms within the den. (Directly SE of the room containing the Borealis exit/Ash Anderson.)
    • Broker is lvl 225 but not attackable/will not attack (does not share social aggro, despite receiving buffs from the smugglers).
    • 20-minute spawn cycle on/off, regardless if trade window is open (can't be held).
    • Will carry between 6 and 9 grafts, all QL 200, all Boosted, randomly selected from a pool of 23 total grafts.
    • Cost to purchase - 1.7m @ 900 CompLit, 1.2m @ 1800 CL.

    Directions:
From entrance, stay left and follow curved hallway downward into large main room (looks like a backwards 'C'). This is also the room where you can warp in from Borealis. You'll see three tunnel entrances nearby on the East side of the room, these warp you to different spots in the dungeon. For smugglers, you want the one on the right. Go through and continue straight (West) through the various rooms of dogs, bots, etc, and you will soon end up in a room full of crates with a bridge and balcony above. Take a left through the door, follow the path upstairs, cross the bridge, then stay left moving forward through the next two rooms. You should end up in a long room with a desk at the end. If the broker isn't there at the time, just look for the leet on the shelf, that's where he will spawn. Note this room has a door connecting to the balcony you saw earlier; this can be used as a shortcut to get to the broker if you are high lvl enough to jump up from the crates to the bridges, or just as a faster way back to the mantis area if you are sticking around.

    Inventory:

    Notes:
    • Any given graft had roughly a 25-50% rate of appearance, so you might get all you need in one go, or it might take a few visits.
    • 'Old' grafts still exist, exceptions being Swim Expertise, Swim Proficiency, and Sparrow Flight (Team), which are now Broken Armor.
    • Same with pills and nano critters - old ones still exist, except for Swim Expertise, Swim Proficiency, and Sparrow Flight (Other) which are now Placebo Pills.
    • Sparrow Flight grafts are all now called Lesser Sparrow Flight, same as the one sold by Smuggler.
    • Playful Cub grafts are a little weird; they are sold as Lesser Playful Cub, convert to just Playful Cub once hacked, but still cast Lesser Playful Cub either way. There is no advantage to having an old one aside from collectibility.
    • Six general nano grafts that are no longer covered by composites, and no longer buyable: Healing, Improve Health, Bot Migration, Bot Mass Migration, Radiation Shield, Radiation Ward.
    • Being a long-time blitzer, I rolled a few thousand missions searching for any form of symbio/boosted graft (or pill/blister/critter/finger/etc), but no luck as expected. Aside from 'old' pre-existing grafts these are the only ones obainable now. If you are after a graft that isn't sold by the Broker, try asking around! A veteran player may be willing to sell you one.

Hope this helps! If anyone has ?'s or additional info it is welcomed.

Apart from Enhanced Senses for buffing Sense, what type of character cares to bother with these grafts?
Is it just low-level tower twinks?

Root grafts are just as good for when a mob is chasing you as when you're chasing someone else around a tower field. 13% reflect graft increases your survival in almost any situation. Playful Cub helps for slower characters all over SL, especially underwater Ado.

These are just some examples. Most of the grafts aren't overwhelmingly good, and while lower lvls can certainly get more practical use from the bulk of these, some are useful tools to have that almost any lvl/prof can benefit from.

Updated inventory to reflect addition of Sparrow Flight and Tutoring Expertise grafts in the Broker's potential stock.

The tutoring expertise graft is especially important, as there is currently no other way for new players to self-cast a tutoring buff. +20 buff may still be received from veteran players who have Tutoring Expertise or Composite Tradeskill Special Expertise, but neither of those nanos are sold anymore, and Tutoring is not covered by the 'newest batch' of composites.
